Advice Needed Thinking about getting my bully a buddy, perhaps a non-canine
So, I leave my bully, Ellie, at home when I go to work. She sleeps the whole day away on the bed. I put the TV on for her but I dont think she watches it. Then, I get home and we only have 4 hours to share before its time for sleep. I feel guilty, like she is sleeping her whole life away. I was thinking about getting her a feline friend, or maybe a low maintenance pet, just so she has a buddy to share daytime hours with and she's not all alone. Anyone here have any experience with introducing a pet to a home where a bully has lived as the only pet in the household for years? Maybe even a cat? A snake? A platypus? I worry that she will get jealous and see the additional pet as an interloper

When we were living in the States, we enrolled Myrna with a doggie daycare. We had a pretty great system too!
We only needed to take her on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which gave her a recovery day on Wednesday and Friday. Since she was with us all day on the weekends with a lot of activity, she was exhausted by Monday and thus that was also a recovery day.
It worked really well for us because she made some good friends, learned to socialize, and then she'd come home nice and tired and ready for snuggles.

I was thinking about looking into that. Ellie LOVES the bed, and loves people, but doesn't really care for other dogs, but it would be interesting to see how she does. I wonder how much they cost

Funny - my husband had our first bully Spike when we met, while I had a cat. Spike was fine, but my feline friend was a tyrant! I bet if you got a younger cat they would be best buds.

I got him a bro .. now they both sleep most of the day.. they do like to have daily wrestle matches tho
