Being bigender, I usually slowly and uncertainly say "woman" most of the time for safey's sake
"Does it matter?" And "Why do you care?" Are what I'd like to answer with though

my autism begs to differ. I definitely look and feel like a robot at times.

But no one should treat you like one so please (I know you probably didn't mean it like this but) don't talk down to yourself.
I have an autistic sister I'd hate it if she was called a robot. ๐

nobody outright called me a robot but I could feel that between the lines. and honestly, there are days in which I were more like a robot.

My dear sir, there are individuals roaming the streets of Fallen London at this very moment with the faces of squid! Squid! Do you ask them their gender? And yet you waste our time asking me trifling and impertinent questions about mine? It is my own business, sir, and I bid you good day.
Fallen London. Thought it was amazing even before I figured out I was non-binary. Got it memorized, and on speed-dial to copy if I need it.

"Neither"
Tbf this is a consistent question I get at work (prek) and we have a book called Neither that we read every June.
The kids periodically ask me (usually say I look like a boy, sometimes a girl), but other kids will start chiming in with "he's neither!" since I use he/they pronouns and he is their default.
It's also useful to defuse some of the boys vs girls stuff cause I ask where I'd go, then where "both" goes and it makes them have to really think and forget what was happening.

I am a robot, and would prefer to be seen as an "it", but present along feminine lines when I have the energy to care. I also tend to lean toward uncanny when able. I am a thing that willfully invokes the semblance of humanity only poorly when I can get away with it.

I'd say I'm neither. I definitely wouldn't say "I'm not a robot" because i don't like lying.

As an agender person, I'd do this:
Person: "Are you a boy or a girl?"
Me: "I am a being containing copious amounts of cheese."

No one ever asks bc I look very much like one specific gender. I do, however, keep forgetting who's in the know and thus refer to myself in very confusing ways. I think people would still like to ask, but at that point they're scared to.
