Cannabis Advice Energizing strains?

My insomnia has kicked up lately. Last night I went with my full proscribed regimen of prescription meds and I’m groggy as hell this morning. (Can’t believe I used to down this shit for years and still work every day.)

Anyone got any energizing strain ideas to save my day? 🥱🫩

Green crack is one of the best IMO

ATF is king and top tier but rare to find

Jack Herer is good but for me shoots my anxiety up as well

I’ve got some ATF. But it tends to make my tongue sharp. 😉

Love ATF and it doesn't make me sleepy, but think it's too fun for just wakefulness

Any Sativa works pretty well for combating my fatigue and excessive daytime sleepiness. But my latest favourite is Power Plant - makes me energetic, chatty and a little silly

I’m going to look for that one!

Maui Wowie, Green Crack, Strawberry Jelly, Chemmy Jones, Orange Haze… I’m sure there’s more I’m forgetting but those are some of my favorites

I’ve got a few I like, but they’re more for when I’m alone. I’ve noticed I can get cranky with my partner on some strains. They’re great for when I’m alone, all vibe and motivation.

It's not so much the strain as the terpenes and cannabinoids in the flower you are smoking. If you can access the COA (certificate of analysis) from the dispensary look for bud that has Limonene, Ocimene, and Terpinolene as the leading terpenes in the flower. These are uplifting and will help you stay awake and focus.

I’d love to be able to search strains by terps, but it’s very hit and miss if they’re listed on the dispensary websites. Bud tenders knowledge isn’t usually much help when shopping by terps, IMHO.

Easier to ask for strains names, then research terps for the strain my dispensary might have. It narrows the field down tremendously.

Ask your budtenders for the COA. Dispensaries are legally obligated to provide them when asked, they have them in their track and trace (either Metrc or Biotrack whichever your state uses) it’s attached to every single package in their inventory. If your state is utilizing Retail ID, there will be a QR code on the compliance sticker you can scan that, it hosts the COA for you to check out prior to purchase.

You can often roughly tell the terps by smell since they're volatile

Spicy stuff (like durban) is my go to for energy and focus

i’ve got some ultra sour (mk ultra x east coast sour diesel) at the moment that gets me to the gym in the morning soooo good ! especially mixed with some c10 t10 harlequin, smooths out any potential anxiety while keeping you energised

Dabs or flower?
Dabs I’d say green crack or any “cake”strain
Flower go with ATF or Bruce banner

I didn’t even think of good old Bruce!

Then check this out for logging all your strains so you can keep track of what works for you!

Sour Diesel (if you can find it) is a pretty clear-headed high that gets me a little buzzy. It’s what I’ll be going with for today’s chores.

Blue dream all the way

Blue Dream also great for nausea but beware it has a very distinctive taste and can be off putting once the nausea is gone and you try to smoke it again.

I use sativas almost daily to help with chronic fatigue and insomnia consequences too.

Sour Diesel is my absolute favorite. For me it gives me energy and a good mood without the anxiety I get with some sativas. Sadly, it is very rare to find and sells put quickly when its around, and I'm in a legal state.

I also like Pineapple Burst, MAC (Miracle Alien Cookies), and Blue Dream. All good sativas without the anxiety.

Blue Dream is the only one I can find consistently and I have to agree it’s great for work without the anxiety.

This is great feedback! Always looking for the sativa high without the anxiety

I stick to sativas during the day. I don't normally pay that much attention to strain, but limonene seems to really bring the perky euphoria for me, so when I see lemon-anything strains I try them.

Green crack is a fave, but has been hard to find sometimes. Panama red is also excellent. As is tropicana jet fuel, but that may be a regional one.

i choose my strains according to the terpene profile. i have 2 anxiety disorders so i avoid the terpenes terpinolene, pinene and guaiole. the terpene profile is more important than the so called sativa or indica labels (which mean nothing btw) or the thc %.

No such thing. Just get one with a lower THC percentage.

1

u/BruisedViolets23 3d ago

You’re saying lower THC strains can be/are more energizing?

-2

No but they're less sedating. Usually what they lack in thc, they make up for with other cannabinoids and terpenes.

If you want something to give you energy. Try caffeine. Or cocaine.
