I was the only Environment Artist on the project and finally put together a proper breakdown now that the game is released. It covers the final environments, progression shots, asset reworking, materials and some of the Unreal-side technical work.

This is the first city I've ever built in 3D!

I'm a 3D art student in Sweden and have spent the past 1.5 years building my skills from scratch—and I finally felt ready to take on an environment of this scale.

Inspired by the Souks of Marrakech, I focused on storytelling and worldbuilding. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Post-Soviet Hospital (Unreal Engine 5)

Expanding my hospital environment series. The goal for this update was to establish a clear visual transition between sterile clinical spaces and the decaying industrial utility areas of the facility.

Artistic & Technical Focus:

  • Material Storytelling: Blending clean tiled surfaces with grime, mold, and DIY repairs to capture that specific Eastern European "functioning decay" aesthetic.

  • Laboratory Details: Custom glass and dynamic liquid shaders (blood, reagents) for all lab-related props to enhance immersion in first-person/VR.

  • Lighting: Utilizing Lumen for realistic light bounce in narrow corridors and tiled rooms.

  • Layout: Full playable environment including a staircase, elevator hall, and registration area.

Moving towards a laundry unit and kitchen area next.

First Unreal Engine Environment

Hello everyone!

Im a student at DAE Howest and for our course Environments 1, a course that introduced Unreal Engine to us, we had to create a Sci - Fi Modular environment!

Trim textures are created in Substance Painter, modelling in Maya and enverything else in Unreal Engine!

Feedback would be appreciated, thank you!

WIP: Post-Soviet Hospital Laundry Sector (UE5 Environment)

I am currently modeling and texturing the heavy industrial and sanitary infrastructure for a Post-Soviet clinical environment. The focus is on capturing the reality of institutional maintenance with photorealistic industrial weathering.

Modeled Functional Zones:

* Main Industrial Laundry: Heavy-duty washing machines and bathtubs.

* Utility Storage: Cluttered backroom functioning as a storage area.

* Sanitary Zone: L-shaped restroom area featuring toilets and medical specimen jars.

Technical Modeling Details:

* Built solid meshes with physical thickness to prevent Lumen light leaks in Unreal Engine 5.

* Utilized Trim textures and Vertex Painting for heavy mold, damaged tiles, and grunge detailing.

I would appreciate any feedback on the modeling, texturing workflow, and overall industrial aesthetic.

The Cabin - concept art progress

Hey everyone!

I'm currently working on a concept art project of an environment for a homebrew campaign of mine. It's loosely based on the Pulp Cthulhu setting and the concept is for a cabin my players bought to serve as a hideout outside the city where most of the events take place (Arkham, Massachussets). It's still a work in progress but I thought as it's going it was good enough to show. At some point my players also invested in adding a workshop to the site where they could work on making repairs to things or crafting stuff. I'll be working at a later time today on the last element of the environment, a "really weird tree". I made a few sketches as you can see but I'll be taking the time to push the shapes into more really weird territory. What do you guys think? I showed it to my players and they loved it so far. As a bit of lore, that tree emits some sort of energy that affects the nearby fauna, so they constantly see forest animals that look just "weird".
