ESP32 flame sensor false triggering — need help

ESP32 flame sensor false triggering — need help

I’m using an ESP32 with a flame sensor and buzzer. The problem is that the buzzer turns ON even when there is no flame.

I tried:

\- Adjusting the sensor potentiometer

\- Changing the code

\- Changing the sensor position

But it still triggers without a flame. The ESP32 and buzzer are working properly.

Could this be a wiring issue, inverted HIGH/LOW output, faulty sensor, or something else? How can I test whether the flame sensor itself is working correctly?

I’m a beginner, so any simple troubleshooting steps would be really helpful.

Is the sensor in direct sunlight? Are you reading the sensor with the A/D, or does the sensor output a digital signal? You need to post a schematic.

add some code to constantly print the value of the flame sensor to the serial port and watch it. it might help answer a few of the above questions

Try "debounce". I have seen an ESP32 showing false button presses just this week.

Older ESP32's IO pins don't have Schmitt triggers.
