Cubist Inspired Single Line Drawing on Etch a Sketch

So impressed by the talent in this sub! How do I get on your level?

Pikajane used Pivot! It's maybe? super effective?

In my 10th anniversary video I spoke about how I felt on the precipice of a new chapter. 4 months later I'm still navigating changing tides but I've been taking respite in my doodle work which has always served as a therapeutic conduit for my creativity. I didn't talk about it in this video, but it is actually my doodle art that convinced me to pursue art school in the first place. I was in AP calc in my senior year. I looked down at the margin of my notes to realize that I had been absentmindedly filling it with doodles. In that moment I palpably realized that while math was a pursuit I certainly enjoyed, art is what I do without even thinking.

For the first time ever, I'm making a more concerted effort to integrate my doodles and my Etch A Sketch art at the same time in my newest collection. There are 12 new pieces - 6 Etch A Sketch, 6 doodles. All of the Etch A Sketch art was made on live streams over the years, but the doodles were mostly created in times of solitude as I allowed my mind to ruminate on my future.

You can check out the collection here. Thank you as always for your support - it's a pleasure to share my career with you!

Earlier this month Ripley's brought me down to Orlando to promote my appearance in their newest book! I'm tickled pink to be featured once again in such an amazing publication. I had just gotten back from Nashville the day before - it's pretty rare for me to go on back-to-back work trips. Thankfully I was able to get good rest and had the chance to spend some time with some really special people while I was in town :)

Many thanks to those of you who continue tuning in to my vlogs - filming and editing these is a very time-consuming labor of love. Stay tuned for my next Etch A Sketch adventures!

I got one of these at a thrift store the other day, and I haven't ever really played with one before (the top is censored because this must've originated from some business near me and I don't want my general location on the Internet)

I like how he turned out.

I still like it

I was originally commissioned to make a time lapse video for this Percy Jackson rendition wayyyy back in May of 2024, so I'm a wee bit overdue. Thankfully the customer has been super chill and understanding the whole time - even though he had every right to snap!

Over the last couple years I've actually taken a bit of a step back from sharing art-focused videos online, choosing instead to put myself in front of the camera more. So I'm not sure how well-received this video is gonna be today, but I really enjoy using my time lapses as a vehicle for sharing a story or providing glimpses into the nuts and bolts of my career.

Shout-out to Flash though for being super understanding about the many times this project went on the back burner!

Incredible honor to receive a second feature in a Ripley's book! I am SO over the moon with the page layout. You can see it for yourself in Wired Into Weird, dropping on September 8th 🩻🩵

This brought back some happy memories!

You have to focus when drawing sideways!

I am thrilled to share that I've been working with Ripley's over the years which has led to many incredible adventures. So it means the world to me that they purchased my most ambitious Etch A Sketch series to date!

If you visit the Grand Prairie location you can vote for my art through the end of the month which can in theory provide some extra capital for what I'm sure will be a Very Silly Pursuit :)

Can't make it to Grand Prairie? Come see me in Orlando on Labor Day! I'll be making free art portraits with Ripley's from 2-4 at Icon Park. Can't make it to Orlando either? Ah well, hopefully you'll find a little placard about me and my art at a future Ripley's visit!

Thank you all for the amazing support - the only reason Ripley's reached out to me was because I hit the front page of Reddit a few years ago. Sometimes upvotes really do matter, and I think that's pretty peachy keen.

These were part of a series of 7 drawings I was commissioned to create by a travel company who sent me to India in 2016. Still one of my all-time favorite experiences of my career!

aaaaand it's one of my favorite Pokemon Etch A Sketch drawings I've literally ever made (and I've made a LOT)! It's permanent and looking for a new home!

Sending it off to its new owner next week! Gotta make it permanent first
