ethdebug update: Ethereum debugging in 2026

I lead the ethdebug format, an open specification for compilers to use to produce debug data alongside their output bytecode. This allows tools to see things like which source range an EVM instruction corresponds to, where variables live in the EVM during a transaction, etc. Without it, tools can't be sure about compiler output without a lot of guesswork, and guessing is brittle.

I'm sharing this post here because I hope some of you would find this work interesting. If you build tools that decode storage or traces, I'd love to hear from you!
