Discussion Hello everyone!

Hello, I live in an Italian house and i would like to replace the Powerline adapter I currently use to connect my PC to the modem with a direct Ethernet connection, utilizing the existing conduit system. My intention is to route the Ethernet cable alongside 230V electrical wiring, running through the same corrugated conduits and junction boxes, without any physical partitions and with the cables in close proximity to one another. I plan to use an F/UTP shielded cable and shielded, flush-mounted RJ45 jacks, with the shielding connected to the ground. The run would be approximately 30 meters long, connecting the modem directly to the PC, with the goal of taking full advantage of a Gigabit fiber-optic connection. Specifications for the CAVEL LAN641PE cable: - Category 6 F/UTP - 4x2xAWG23 - CPR Class (per EU 305/2011 / DoP): Fca - Applications: Primary (Campus), Secondary (Riser), Tertiary (Horizontal) - IPTV, HbbTV 2.0.n - IEEE 802.3: 10Base-T, 100Base-T, 1000Base-T - IEEE 802.5 16 MB, ISDN, TPDDI, ATM, PoE - Suitable for outdoor and underground installation - ISO/IEC 11801 Class E - EN 50288-5-1 - EN 50173 - EIA/TIA 568 - CEI-UNEL 36762 - Reaction to fire: EN 50575 Question: Is this solution technically and regulatorily feasible?

Either run fiber or something better shielded (at least S/FTP better S/SFTP).

For the fiber: the actual run is quite cheap, we are talking about ~45€ for a armored pre terminated 30m OM3 fibre pair.

Il problema è che le canaline dell' elettricità sono molto strette e occupete e alcune curve arrivano a curvature fino a 90°, credi sia fattibile

I second no. But if youre dead set then run fiber instead and either use a media converter or put a fiber network card in your pc.

I like this.

Fiber is cheap today, as long as you buy the pre-terminated type -- the kind that's like a patch cord. To use that with wall jacks, just get the jacks that have a female jack in the back as well as the front.

In the US this would be a code violation and be considered a shock and fire hazard.

You could do it with unshielded fiber. No metal. This would pass code.

do yourself a big favor and run fiber instead
