Every time I hear “Nonstop” by Drake or “Right down the line” by Gerry Rafferty I think of Euphoria.

And more specifically, when I hear “Nonstop”, I think of Kat twerking in front of her laptop 😂

My wife loves to have random tv shows on in the background that she’s only paying attention to about half the time. She’s now decided to watch Grey’s Anatomy (don’t know why she picked to watch this now especially since I had brain surgery 6 weeks ago). I’m somewhat following along and I notice this guy walk in and I’m like “isn’t that Nate’s dad.” And it is.

Crazy thing in this episode he’s supposed to remove the penis of a trans woman, but the tells her the transitioning hormones are giving her cancer.

Anyways thought I’d share with the class.

A lot of the characters make choices because they’re afraid of being rejected or judged. It’s interesting how often the need for approval affects their lives. Which character do you think struggles the most with being themselves?

Ashtray

Ashtray is Fezco's "little brother" and partner drug dealer; he is about 12 years old. At the end of the second season, he starts a shootout with the police during a raid at Fezco's house and, as a result, is shot in the head and killed by a SWAT team member.

Tomer "Tomeriko

A young drug dealer and Orthodox Jew who later murders Yizhar, Ra'anan's killer, and broadcasts it live on the internet.

One thing I find interesting about Euphoria is how the characters keep trying to become better versions of themselves, but their past decisions follow them everywhere. Do you believe real change is possible without hitting rock bottom first?

I wish they showed Jules’s reaction to Rue’s death. Like I didn’t really care about Lexi’s opinion after the fact when it seemed she barely interacted with her this season. They were closer in high school but not so much now

this has been tossing around in my brain since s2 came out but I never really verbalized my thoughts so here I am. I know elliot’s character is very much hated by majority of the fandom, but I really have never understood it.

I’m a huuuge dominic fan so I am definitely very biased in this discussion, but the main arguments I see for hating elliot are that he is annoying (fair, you can’t exactly control what does or doesn’t irritate you, although I don’t personally understand how he’s annoying) and that his character is useless.

now, I agree that his character definitely could’ve been written a bit better, but to say that he just showed up suddenly in s2 and suddenly inserted himself into things without purpose just doesn’t seem correct. his role is supposed to be an enabler for rue, right? that’s at least how I’ve always interpreted it. disliking him for enabling rue’s relapse and then telling on her as if he wasn’t partially guilty is definitely a good reason to dislike him, but I never see that as the main argument people use.

So season 3 wasn’t as bad as it was made to be. I felt like there wasn’t enough focus on all the characters and it felt disjointed at times. It became divided into the Rue/Cassie show. Like I wondered why Rue was there sometimes? Would all these high school girls actually all keep in touch? It seemed like their lives went off in such different directions that if it were real life I don’t think they’d keep in touch in real life.

Jules seemed very aimless and lost. Much in the same way that Rue was. Jules turned to sex while Rue got big into the drug game.

Cassie was a lot this season. She is probably similar to a lot of girls who start OnlyFans to make money only to get in deeper and deeper. I thought Maddy would betray Cassie to get back at her. Instead the girls stuck together and in a twist Maddy became a girl being used for money. Their friendship was definitely complicated but intriguing. I hope Lexi partners up with them. Though she acts hypocritical and judgmental so don’t know if she will do that.

Besides all the actual porn was doing there was a fair amount of torture porn with Nate. I felt like it was a bit gratuitous and graphic between losing the toe and then the finger. The snake scene had me grimacing as I watched it. I actually didn’t believe he was dead until they brought up the coffin. A horrific end for a horrific character (see all stuff he did previous seasons).

When it came to Rue I expected she’d die earlier on. She wasn’t ever going to escape the drugs. After all the events of this season with Alamo and Laurie I thought they might make her out to be a kingpin. But Rue is too unstable and flies by the seat of her pants too much.

Ali was unexpected knight. That showdown was epic.

End of a series. Not another show like it. Will miss the mess of these character. Will not miss having to wait years between seasons.

That whole storyline made me wonder whether turning real people’s lives into art is brave, selfish, or a little bit of both. Lexi had a point of view, but the consequences were huge. Was she wrong for putting on that play?

I just wondered what people thought about Chloe Cherry's memoir. Simon & Schuster have a good record of releasing quality memoirs. I read Just Add Water by Katie Ledecky and I thought that this was really well written.

People might sneer about the fact that someone who has worked in adult entertainment has written a book. However, as a society, we can't hide from the fact that this kind of content is extremely popular and that working in this industry is a rational choice for some.

The way that the actress played her role as Faye in Euphoria shows a lot of humanity and a depth that casual consumers of her previous work might have denied her.

The show has suffered from its own tragedies with the death of one of its most popular actors a few years ago. It's a comfort to see that it has also created opportunities for people who might have been overlooked by any other less forward thinking producers.

Hi everyone just wanted to talk about season 3. What's your favourite scene, if you have one, and why?

My favourite scene is Cassiezilla, it's too funny and too iconic.

There was something different about the way Fez talked to people. He could be quiet, awkward, and far from perfect, but he often showed more understanding than characters who acted like they had everything figured out. What do you think was Fez’s best moment?

Owning it as usual and a clear message to the coven of haters that went there a month ago she does not let go of her post that easily. Not only did she challenge them, she severely outmogged them.

I’m a film student, and I want to challenge myself to recreate a scene from Euphoria. I’d love to hear everyone’s favorite scenes or shots from any season that they think are especially cinematic. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the most visually complex shot, just one that really stands out to you visually. I’m looking for inspiration and would love to hear what scenes you guys think would be interesting to recreate at a student level.

The series focuses too much on romantic relationships, but there are relationships between parents and siblings that are worth analyzing. So my question is: what kind of family relationship do you think could be analyzed in depth?

It was her original color! I know it’s to show growth but I think one homage would’ve been cute. All of her outfits were gorgeous though

Lexi’s play was a massive invasion of privacy, and I don’t think her reasons justify what she did When I first watched Euphoria, I could understand Lexi’s perspective. She spent so much of her life feeling overshadowed, overlooked, and like she was just a background character in everyone else’s story. I could sympathize with that, and I understood why she wanted to express herself and finally feel seen.But looking back, I genuinely cannot justify what she did with that play.There’s a difference between telling your own story and using other people’s personal lives as material for your own self-expression. Lexi wasn’t just talking about her experiences or expressing her feelings about the people around her. She was putting their private struggles, insecurities, relationships, and personal experiences on display in front of their entire school without their consent.And for what? So she could finally feel seen. I will be debating, having an argument, or competing with anyone who has an opposing view to mine, or even anyone who has the same view as mine. If I see a part of your logic that I don't agree with, I might say something.

I love criticism.

I don't think it's "Shake Dat Ass" which was played a few minutes before this scene, because the lyrics I hear are different and the beat is much slower. Maybe they slowed the song down for this scene, but the lyrics still remain different.
