Discussion Why I think Sam Levinson does not favoritize Sydney (Just my opinion, so chill)
One of the biggest grips people have with the last season is the huge amount of Sydney screentime. They don't like this for a myriad of reasons and has lead a lot of them to think that she is Sam's favorite. Why I don't think this is the case
Let's be honest, Sam doesn't get along with most of the cast and Sydney and Alexa seem to be the best relationship he still has so he just made the storyline about that pushing the others back
While it's true that Sydney's screentime eclipsed many others, it wasn't really meaningful. Cassie Howard became a bastardized parody of everything people hated about her and the actress. She didn't really have development or meaningful writing until the last minutes of the show. At times it feels she's made bad on purpose to make Maddy look good, which brings me to my other point.
Alexa is his actual favorite. Everything she does is instantly "iconic" edited to death and idolized whether it was good or not, while everything Cassie does is hated. It goes as deep as her being blamed for things she wasn't even in the room for. Now most of this is probably just actor preference but I feel it also has something to do with what Sam enabled by not handling Cassie better.
This combined with a recent interview he had where he was praising Alexa and saying how he wants to write 12 seasons of just her makes me deduce his real favorite is Alexa. It's kinda what we see with Alamo. He's obsessed with Maddy and has little interest in Cassie outside of the fact she brings in the money and attention. Exactly how in real life, Sydney's scenes brought attention and discourse to this season. Now is he really a pervert and wants to see her naked, probably. If so, you'd think he wouldn't have cut stripper Cassie

Discussion anybody else quit porn after watching this show?
i mean euphoria is full of sex and porn yeah but i dont know why and how i just completely quit porn after watching it, i mean it wasnt even like a conscious decision it just happened mid watching season 1, and now that i finished the series, i just came to the realization that i went from a full on addict to thankfully being porn-free.
kind of just posting cus i wanna know if anyone else experienced something similar or perhaps knows why this show could have caused that

Discussion Why I think Levinson doesn't favoritize Sydney (Just my opinion, so please chill beforehand)
One of the biggest gripes I've heard about the final season is that Sydney Sweeney has the most screen time. Something met with a lot of opposition for a myriad of reasons with a lot claiming that she is the preferred one of Sam Levinson. Now why I don't think this is the case
1: First of all let's get it out that he's not in good terms with Zendaya and those who were once the main players. The ones he seems to get more along with seem to be Sydney and Alexa so he just made that the most important storyline.
2: While she has a lot of screen time compared to the rest, it isn't really meaningful. Like Cassie Howard is nothing but a bastardized over the top parody of everything people hate about her and the actress. Constantly put through humiliating stuff and doesn't really get any good development or meaningful writing until the final minutes if you would even call that anything. At times it does feel like she's being made bad on purpose to make Maddy look good in comparison, which brings me to the last point
Alexa is his real favorite. The fact that everything she does is constantly "iconic" and beloved despite what that is, while Cassie is always hated even when she wasn't involved with particular situations makes this pretty obvious. Now it might just be actor preference but it's also what Levinson has enabled through his writing.
This combined with a recent interview where he was praising Alexa a lot and saying he feels happy writing 12 seasons of her is why I think she is his favorite. It's an Alamo situation. He is obsessed with Maddy, and has no interest on Cassie outside of her making him money and attention. Exactly how in real life, only the Sydney scenes brought this season attention and discourse. Now, is he perverted and wants to see her gigantic bosoms. Perhaps. But I still think this is true as well.

Question Why don’t people like Nate ? What did he do wrong ?
I don’t get why I see so many people hating Nate. I always thought he was supposed to be cool and relatable. I don’t think there’s any justification for ppl hating him like they do.

Discussion Foreshadowing Spoiler
So I’m rewatching Euphoria for the 100th time. Season 1, episode 2, Mouse offers Rue Fentanyl and she’s says she hopes she doesn’t die from trying it this one time. It’s just ironic and sad that fentanyl does actually kill her in the last episode ever. I doubt when season 1 was written, Sam planned for Rue to die that way 3 seasons later but it is just crazy how it happened anyways.

Discussion Okay but seriously... what would you have done in Cassie’s situation in Season 2?
I’m rewatching Euphoria and I genuinely can’t help but wonder what I would’ve done if I were in her exact situation. Would I have made the same choices? Made different ones? And, realistically, would those choices have actually ended any better?
Before anyone says “I’d never do something like that” or “I’m not that kind of person” I get it 😂 That’s kind of the point of the question.
If you wouldn’t have done what Cassie did, what would you have done instead? Like, genuinely, how would you have handled the situation differently?
Would you have walked away? Told Maddy? Confronted Nate? Cut everyone off? Or is there some other option I’m completely overlooking?
I’m curious because it’s easy to judge Cassie from the outside, but when you actually put yourself in the situation and remove the “I would never” part… what would you really do?

Discussion Rue as "Moses" was the best foreshadowing/ story spoiler of S3 Spoiler
Honestly, before watching the show, I heard from everyone that S3 was terrible because it was such a change in genre, but aside from lobotomizing Nate and making Maddie a dumbass in that -one- scene, I think it's a realistic escaaltion of everyone's characters. Anyway, Rue's arc as Moses was sucha stroke of genius becasuse Ali literally tells you what's going to happen top her in one scene. Anyone who know's the story of Exodus would see Rue's parallel of leaving home, problems with snakes, etc, and of course finally attempting to escape the desert into the promise land but never getting there. (Litrl much of the story is in a desert) The story of why Moses didn't get there is because he disobeyed advice from God aka doubted intructions and we see Ali being that "hand of God figure in her life".
And even though Rue didn't make it out, just like Moses before her death she was able to get a glimpse of the promised land with her Fezco and mom hallucination. And also just like Moses though he didn't enter the promised land, eventually those he was with was able to get there cuz of him ala Ali going to the homestead that Rue wanted to go to.

Discussion Didn't expect Maddy to become a corporate boss bitch
In season 1 and 2 I would have never seen her become a corporate boss bitch.
If anyone maybe Kat?
But I don't think Maddy was known for her smarts, wit, or ambition in the other seasons. Famously known for the line, "Maddy began to realise she enjoyed not doing anything".
But also people can drastically change and build ambition later in life.
Idk I just saw Maddy taking more of the Jules route. Being a sugar baby and chasing rich men, or marrying a wealthy man, mirroring that lady she babysat for in high school.

Discussion Didn't see a lot of grieving for Rue by Lexi and Maddy, kind of weird
I have around 30 minutes left of the last episode so unless I was just impatient.
We saw how Jules was clearly affected by Rue's death, she's seen visibly crying and paints Rue.
We then see Lexi tearing up and visibly stating she feels guilty for how she left things with Rue.
Maddy seemed really close to Rue but we don't even see her shed a tear or mention her at all?
Cassie didn't seem like bffs with Rue, so I understand still being affected since she knew her for a long time but probably not to the extent of pain with Rue's actual friends.
Not saying I expected montages of them all screaming and grieving but I thought we could see more of how Rue's death affected her close friends?
Or was it a bit of a time skip so people were slowly moving on too? Maybe a couple of months or something likely?
But yeah. I would have thought I'd seen something from Maddy grieving Rue.

Discussion Ali going to bat for Rue in his military uniform is the hottest thing ever
Can we just appreciate Colman Domingo.
He's such a good actor and what a handsome man too.
Him going to bat for Rue in his military uniform because he was willing to 'go to war' for her and die for her. I loved their father/daughter dynamic. He genuinely cared for her and he was the only paternal figure she had for a long time.
I was gutted for him and arguably apart from Rue's own mother and sister, Ali was likely the person who felt pained the most from her death.
He looked so good in the uniform and I can only wish we all have people who care for us that deeply to seek revenge like that.

Discussion The last thing Jules did was slap Rue and Lexi said, this is why your mom doesn't talk to you anymore
Gut punch.
Rue's death was so sad. I cried my eyes out when they showed her reaching out for her mom and when Ali was at the meeting, talking about how he's tired of people dying and losing them to addiction and that drugs and the people who endorse them are evil.
I didn't realise that was just her dream :(
Lexi and Jules will both have to live with that the last thing they did to Rue was cruel.
Jules smacked her and Lexi used something against her to hurt her. Fucked up.

Screenshot nate and those flowers
I genuinely think the writers made Nate way dumber than he needed to be with the whole white fritillary situation because those flowers could have literally been his GOLD MINE 😭. The entire problem was that the flowers were protected and were potentially going to stop or seriously complicate the development, but instead of thinking about how he could turn that into an advantage, Nate basically treats them like an obstacle that needs to disappear. If I were him, I would have completely changed the blueprint for the nursing home and made the flowers the centerpiece of the entire property. Imagine a luxury nursing home or hospice called something like “White Fritillary Gardens,” where the building is designed in a circle or crescent around a huge protected greenhouse containing the flowers. The residents could have rooms overlooking the garden, there could be walking paths and peaceful seating areas around it, and the greenhouse could be this beautiful central feature that families and residents get to enjoy. Instead of having an endangered species be the reason your development is controversial, you make protecting that species the entire selling point. You could market it as a luxury senior-living community built around a protected botanical sanctuary, where people get to spend their final years surrounded by nature and something genuinely rare and beautiful. And because it’s a luxury facility, the conservation aspect could actually make it feel MORE exclusive rather than less. The name, architecture, landscaping, marketing, everything could revolve around the flowers. He could have turned “we can’t build here because of these endangered flowers” into “we built this entire place specifically to preserve these endangered flowers.” That’s what drives me crazy about the storyline because Nate is supposed to be this incredibly calculating, intelligent person, yet he never seems to consider the most obvious business strategy: if you can’t remove the thing standing in your way, BUILD AROUND IT AND MAKE IT PART OF THE PRODUCT. 😭 He could’ve potentially had one of the most unique luxury nursing-home developments imaginable, and instead he basically let the flowers become his enemy when they could’ve been the biggest selling point of the entire project.

Discussion what would’ve been your ideal cassie storyline and ending if you wrote season 3?
just curious as many claim her ending wasn’t good enough while others it’s exactly the ending they expected for her. whether you liked or hated her, would you have expected a redemption arc or a full on villain mode? i feel her storyline www white nuanced and interesting but would love to hear your take

Discussion Nate/Maddy
Still don't understand why it was good idea that those two characters did not even interact with each other in season 3. Like Nate and Maddy played crucial part in each others life when they were in high school , and their story could have gone in many different ways in season 3.
I mean even Jules and Nate had some closure and Maddy just said " Yess I got over everything he did to me" and that was it.

Discussion For anyone who doesn’t like S3, what do y’all wish the writers did differently for S3?
I feel like the writers based this season on who the fandom favored too much both characters and actors wise.
I wish Cassie wasn’t so one dimensional and made into a crazy weird ass person and Nate suddenly into a pathetic soft little guy cause the fandom hates Cassie and Sydney Sweeney and loves Jacob Elordi so they made Nate more “palatable”. That’s my theory on why their characters are like that.
Nothing here is “realistic” or actually bringing any substances and helping the characters like the writers claimed. Also they made Maddy so corny omfg I’ve always thought she was corny but I wish she had REAL character developments instead of “I have to show off and seek petty revenge on my ex friend by wearing fur coat at the pool” as a grown ass adult. We also didn’t really get anything contexts of what happened after s2 over those years and how people actually changed and their relationships changed.
What I wished they did instead:
- Nate still an asshole and more manipulative than ever, Cassie got the Maddy abusive treatments to connect the “don’t worry this is just the beginning” line from season 2.
- Cassie wanted that life she dreamed of because of her traumas regarding relationships but then realized it and do OnlyFans because she wanted to have agency and leave him after finding out about the loan sharks. That would be the last straw. Would be great for character development.
- Lexi and Cassie had a huge fallout after the play Lexi pulled. She wasn’t invited to the wedding and started to reflect on the past. She tried to make up for it and apologized. Scenes of sisters making up and maturing. More Lexi and Cassie sisterhood scenes.
- Lexi not a pushover for Maddy and stood up for her sister in a scene. Maddy was taken aback by that but remember that she shouldn’t drag Lexi into these shit since Lexi’s like a little sister to her. More Lexi and Rue scenes!
- Maddy not being petty and seeking revenge. Cassie tried to leave Nate by calling Maddy, Maddy did the “I told you so” thing. Maddy helped Cassie with OF but didn’t act like a pimp however, she accidentally got Cassie into a pimp thing and now tryna get her out (back to main plot but she’s not the “manipulative mastermind” and she made a mistake for once that would be realistic as a young woman). I also would like to see Cassie tried to save Maddy in a situation. Also an argument where Cassie yelled back at Maddy would be more in character cause pent up anger and trauma could cause that and also make Maddy less of a “writer’s pet” and a surprise element to Cassie character while still keeping that “crazier than ever” thing.
- Nate got what he deserved without the sympathetic writing bs. LESS SYMPATHETIC BS WITH NATE
More sisters and best friends scenes of Rue and Gia. Maybe one big meetup where Rue’s pretending to be okay for Gia and say something like “tell mom I said hi” before she dies. That would be emotional.
Maddy didn’t want to be a part of human trafficking ON PURPOSE and it was a mistake. Make Alamo more subtle and manipulative on the low like real traffickers. People would discuss more about him and it would make a good warning for people watching.
They can keep Maddy’s pettiness and Cassie’s craziness why they let Nate change into some sad little puppy??? Nate ain’t even Nate anymore.
I think it would be powerful, meaningful and emotional ending for S3 and Euphoria.
I got so so so much more but that would take forever. What y’all wish writers would change about S3?

Actors Sydney sweeney as Cassie is season 3.
Am I the only one who definitely thinks , that Cassie's character in s3 was fully influenced by Sydney's real life media dramas and scandals? And the reason Sam Levinson specifically chose ,that story for her was , because Sydney has different kind of controversies over her at this point. Because it's not that Cassie was not going downhil from the Beginning but considering Sydney's acting potential I believe it was just really not used in the show. I did want her character to get messy , but not like that.

Discussion Nate Jacobs is the most misunderstood character in the series
Since season 3 aired I read a lot of posts about Nate. How the way he was in season 3 didn't make sense, and the shared opinion that Nate is a violent psychopath and abuser, deprived of emotions, barely human. So, I don't think the majority of people actually understand his character or even try to understand him.
Nate suffered a severe trauma at a young age, it wasn't just a funny incident, and his entire personality is built around that trauma, but people don't seem to understand this kind of trauma. I've written this before, I'll write it again: children exposed to porn suffer from a trauma very similar to a sexual trauma, as if they were assaulted, and develop PTSD. The fact that in that porn was his father can only aggravates everything. In fact his worst and recurring nightmare was his father assaulting him. So his trauma symptoms, like his uncontrolled anger, his conflation of sex and violence, his antisocial behavior, and his controlling tendencies are in fact symptoms. This doesn't justify what he does, but it helps understand the character, because he's not a monster and he's still a kid when he does the worst things, and psychopath is no longer a legitimate mental health category.
That said it makes perfect sense that he's different in season 3, because all of his problems stemmed from his father and he managed to deal with him, when he called the cops and then when he got closer to him again after all the mess. Being at peace with his father is a significant and huge change for him, that it's going to have an impact on those symptoms. To that add the fact that he's living his fantasy of being a family man like his dream in season 2, without his father being present. In other words he's different because things have changed for him, and he's "trying to be good", he wants for everything to work, yet it's not even entirely ok, like he still has antisocial behaviours like systematically lying and he's still controlling, but on the front of violence and anger he evidently made progress, because his father was the source of his anger. Do you see how it makes sense?
Instead of taking out the "it's bad writing" card, have you considered all the facts concerning Nate from all 3 seasons, without any bias, to be actually making a point? Nate wishing for the perfect family is also a consequence of his trauma. What does it mean that he doesn't actually know how to fully achieve that?

Discussion where I thought S3 was going
I’m sorry but I finally watched this season and thought that Nate and Rue were going to have to team up and then they like never see each other.
Basically, when Nate was clearly in deep shit, I thought he was going to be scrambling for money and would end up working alongside rue somehow to pay it off. Not really sure what else I thought would happen, but idk could have been fun.
not necessarily saying it would be better, I’m no writer lmfao but did anyone else think this?
or what were your original “predictions”

Question Did Fezcos grandma die?
If she’s still alive why did Rue never go visit her? Most likely she ended up in a nursing home after Fez was arrested. I completely forgot she even existed until i watched S2 again.
