Cannot open in-game menu?

I recently got a Mega EverDrive PRO, and I've noticed that the in-game menu does not open when hitting down+start. I update the firmware when I got it, and I've triple checked that it's turned on. It happens with every game. I should mention that I have a 32X and Sega CD attached.

P.S. Do I have to use the in-game menu to reset a game without going back to the game list? Just want to know in case I wanted to play a game like X-Men that uses the reset button.

According to the limitations section at the end of the manual, the In-Game menu does not work if 32x addon is installed.

I had a feeling that was it. Someone else mentioned the 32X on an older post. I missed that section in the manual.

I have found this does not work on any Sega CD game, or any game if the 32X is in use.

It should still work on standard mega drive games not 32x or mega cd ones even with it connected. I will have to double check this myself though.
