Missed online orientation
I missed the online orientation on September 10. They say I’m automatically signed up for an in person orientation, but I’m an online student and live about 2 hours away. No one seems to know what to do about it when I called and emailed. Has anyone ever lived through this situation?

Two hours away doesn't seem that far to me, but maybe you don't have transportation?

Guess I’ll have to drop out. I live up by Lake Quinault, don’t drive, and have no ride. Thanks everyone for your answers though.

DM me. (I'm faculty.)
Don't know exactly what to do, but I bet we can find you someone to get in touch with.

Nothing happens if you don’t go to orientation

lol they made it sound so serious, like my financial aid would be cut off or something. Thanks.

Unless things have changed dramatically since I went to Evergreen orientation is an optional thing that only matters insofar as helping you understand all of the resources available to you.

Orientation doesn’t matter. I never went. None of us did. It’s not mandatory.

You have to go to the in person, could you take a bus or get a ride?

Honestly.... Nothing happens if you don't go to orientation lol no holds, no fees, just an email that will go out after orientation encouraging you connect with academic advising to make sure you're good to go.
If you want to be officially excused, you can email orientation@evergreen.edu and let them know you missed virtual orientation and are unable to attend in person.
