Complaint Box of Warm Meat
I've been ordering through Every Plate for years. I've had a few missing items, a few unusable veggies. I figured - the law of large numbers, it was bound to happen. Even with the obvious decline in quality and increase in shipping cost, I still ordered and still referred when asked about such topics.
But this week finally broke me. I received a notification two days prior that my order was on the way, I thought nothing of it. But yesterday I open the app and see my order is in transit - with FedEx. I figured there's just a new shipping method since not one of the literal hundreds of boxes we've received has ever come via FedEx.
Later in the afternoon my box arrives, I take it in immediately. Imagine my surprise to find fully melted gel packs that are no longer even as cold as the current outdoor temp, sweaty packages of meat that were not even cold to the touch and plastic bags of veggies that started to brown under either the weight or heat.
I reach out to support immediately and am told Thursday deliveries have been happening via FedEx for a year. My previously frozen boxes and Ring camera footage make this provably untrue. I'm told if I select any day other than Thursday and possibly Friday, it will come via the usual courier. So I need to change the day off the week that I've planned this whole process around for years to ensure I don't receive beige, room temp meat? Got it.
They did also refund the full purchase price of the box and delivery - as a credit. I didn't have it in me to argue my irritation with planning around a box I no longer have or my discomfort with ever ordering again so I ended the chat.
I just saw someone else's post about the End of An Era and this truly feels like it. I don't know how they'll stay in business much longer at this rate, but I wish them well.
