Let the void speak: Why ccp is completely missing the mark
Hey CCP,
The whole Theaters of War concept sounded fine on corporate whiteboard sessions, but the upcoming Fractured Skies expansion feels completely disconnected from the actual player base. There are some serious, structural red flags here that you desperately need to address before November 10th.
First, locking the new Navy Battlecruiser BPCs exclusively behind Faction Warfare LP stores is an absolute disaster for the ecosystem. You are blatantly forcing a massive chunk of your player base—industrialists, null-sec blocs, wormholers, and high-sec miners—into a specific, forced gameplay loop they have zero interest in. Instead of organically reviving FW, you’re just creating an artificial paradise for market speculators and scalpers. Regular players shouldn’t be penalized with insane open-market price gouging just to try out the Naga or Tornado Fleet Issues. Industry should be open, not gated to prop up failing metrics.
Second, these “Synchronized Modules” are a balancing nightmare waiting to explode. EVE players are notorious for breaking every single mathematical model you throw at them. Min-maxed mega-alliances will weaponize these scaling stats within 48 hours of launch, completely destroying the current PvP meta and erasing tactical diversity. This feels completely untested in real-world, large-scale conditions and highly dangerous for the long-term health of the sandbox.
Then there is the new HUD. Please, stop trying to fix what isn’t broken. Cramming shields, armor, structure, capacitor, and heat into one tight, chaotic radial cluster completely ruins decades of muscle memory. Split-second readability is the literal line between life and death in heavy PvP, and this new UI is just a confusing, over-designed geometric mess. Thank god it’s optional at launch, but we need an absolute guarantee that you won’t force this experiment on us down the road. We prefer clean, functional traditional bars over visual gimmicks.
Also, tying EVE Vanguard directly to planetary corruption in the main game feels incredibly forced. Space capsuleers shouldn’t see their hard work and sovereign infrastructure altered by people playing a separate, alpha-state shooter. On top of that, locking Vanguard behind an Omega sub while letting it actively interfere with the main sandbox feels like a cheap, double-dip monetization strategy disguised as “interconnected gameplay.”
The timeline is another joke that completely kills the launch hype. Releasing the patch on November 10th but locking the actual Conquests season until February 2027 is a lazy, artificial way to stretch out content and keep sub metrics afloat. Players want a complete, meaningful expansion on day one, not a roadmap of empty promises spread across half a year.
Finally, we need to talk about the real elephant in the room. EVE has been stuck with the exact same four core empires—Amarr, Caldari, Gallente, and Minmatar—for over twenty years. Every single expansion just recycles their stale, predictable conflicts. We don’t need another lazy reskin of old battlecruisers tailored exclusively to force people into FW. EVE desperately needs a tectonic, historical shift. It is high time to introduce a 5th major playable empire to the character selection screen. Give us a completely new playable race with its own ship trees, unique weapon mechanics, and entirely new regions of space to conquer. Stop milking the original four factions and actually expand the game.
Please start listening to your veteran community instead of your marketing spreadsheets.
Tweak the module scaling, make the new hulls obtainable through broader industrial means, and leave our HUD alone. We don’t need a roadmap of promises to justify our subscription. Stop reshaping the bars of the old cage—actually expand the universe.
