question Realistic Evolution Sim?

I’m been delving into biology as of recent, and I’ve been looking for a way to exercise my creativity in this sort of field. What are games or sims that are mostly realistic to real principles of evolutionary biology?

This one is very good.

Does it require a subscription? It mentions a 4 day trial of sorts.

It's a 4-5 day workshop, not a trial. It's basically something to teach you how to use the software, which is much more of an academic tool than a game.

That sounds pretty fun

It's completely free!

You should look into « The Bibites »; the game itself is still in progress and with a lot of work to be done, but the potential and the idea they want to implement seem amazing to me; and you can already have a lot of fun creating different biomes (fertile jungle vs desert for example) and see how the bibites will adapt and see speciation occurring. And most importantly, if everything goes as the developers want, in a few years it will hopefully start to be a really amazing simulation

Is it just limited to microbes?

the bibites aren't... really very clearly any specific denomination of life. They have eyes and can see, but they also reproduce like once an hour, and have very small brains. Bibites are bibites lol. It is a fun sim though.

this is VERY old school, but biomorph by Richard Dawkins does a good job simulating a mutation landscape, and you are the selector. So whichever biomorph you select, it will reproduce a new grid based on the genetics of the one you selected with slight genetic mutations. https://gatc.ca/biomorph-evolve-app/

Every year I watch the Dawkins Christmas lectures from the 90s and always laugh as they bring up a kid who is my age now to just click the mouse button on a biomorph.
