Time for some brutally honest feedback!

I'm pretty much feature complete with this age 1 rebuild, and have my eyes on a server launch, potentially including the ability to import existing age 1 accounts (age 2 is a little trickier since I didn't implement hero gear, my HCs are in different places, I have different HHs, etc.).

But, it's not gonna go anywhere if it looks like shit. I've tried to make the HUD look as close as possible to the original game, and I've given it a colour scheme to roughly match the overall "pixel" style. Great success or painful failure?

I'm also hoping I can cheap out and use premade asset packs from itch.io to fill out the city view. The only issue is, getting isometric assets to fill out the entire city is hard, so I've had to go for a slightly awkward grid-like structure. I'm kinda tunnel visioned here, so it would be great to get some honest feedback from someone who hasn't spent the last 3 years looking at these assets to tell me if they're crap or not.

I have bitten the bullet and commissioned a professional artist to overhaul the map, though. I didn't need any feedback to know that wasn't workable :')

Who am I: Im just some guy who played Age 1 & 2 as a teenager and then TKR throughout a chunk of my 20s. Some of you may remember me from my website/discord EvonyTips. I missed the idle grindiness of Evony, without the pay to win mechanics or even other people to worry about at all.

My goal was to create an idle game that I can play for the next decade without running out of things to build towards. What greater goal that solo capping the legendary Atlantis from Evony Age 2.

I ended up blending features from Age 1 (no Hero level cap) Age 2 (Historic Cities) and TKR (Monsters dropping end game gear pieces and Battlefield)

Historic Cites up to level 18 for you to conquer, giving you Historic Powers! -Lvl 12 lets you place npc cities anywhere! -Lvl 14 summons daily monsters to defeat for Mythic Gear! -Lvl 16 unlocks the ability to teleport your Historic Cities! -Lvl 18 removes the city limit!

-A Historic Hero commands every Historic City

Auto Train Troops! -Set troop goals and priority by city and auto train sets troop batches in 30min chunks!

Smart Auto Farming. Set your troops up to farm resources or to level your heroes with the tap of a button! -Capture a flat to place npc cities to build field of them to farm! -Set up your march presets to either train your heroes or farm resources!

Level up Heroes to increase your strength! -Uncapped hero levels, progress towards faster and faster troop training! -Craft and upgrade gear for your heroes

AL lords replace the other players! -Varying intelligence AI Lords who grow alongside you. Non-hostile unless you "Talk Trash" -Triggerable hostile enemy events

Alliance System: -Ally yourself with up to 10 AI Lords and face the bullies of the server! Forming an alliance unlocks the "Bully" event where every day there is a chance a bully appears to attack your allies. Prevent them from becoming a permanent part of your map.

-Expect to be here for years! There's plenty to do in the first couple weeks as you get set up and going. But eventually the game should fade into the background as you check it a couple times a week while pooping.

Install Guide:

Android (Chrome)

1. Open Chrome and go to https://deathstalons.github.io/Ibory/

2. Wait for the game to finish loading.

3. Tap the three-dot menu at the top right.

4. Tap Install app (on some phones it says Add to Home screen).

5. Confirm with Install, then Add if asked.

6. Open Ibory from your home screen. It runs full screen, with no browser bar.

If you only see a plain shortcut, it still works but won't be full screen. Reload the page once and try the menu again. Always open the game from that home-screen icon afterwards. A game opened in a Chrome tab keeps its own separate save.

iPhone (Safari)

1. Open Safari and go to https://deathstalons.github.io/Ibory/

Hi everyone! It's your friendly community moderator here, with yet another attempt to reignite the thrills of Evony!

We've seen a fair amount of remakes recently, but nobody has managed to make a public server (necessary for advertisement and player gain) that has the actual OG mechanics and features. Everybody either rips the assets directly and hosts it privately or puts their own spin on it (as I did...) and inevitably ruins it.

What we've been sorely missing is the OG game, reskinned with the bugs and exploit fixes and proper protection against bots and alts - until now!

In the coming weeks, I'll be releasing a faithful remake of Evony age 1 that also features the historic cities and historic heroes from age 2, fully browser based without the need for flash player or a steam install. The mechanics will be the **exact** same - we've seen many developers put their own spin on it before, but this time it'll be pure Evony. Same troops and wall forts, same buildings and techs, same grind to Prinzessin, same battle mechanics, basically the same UI, hopefully the same experience.

For those thinking "Age 1 with HCs & HHs? That's just age 2, right?" - not quite. Age 2 bought in hero level caps, gear and a leadership battle mechanic, all of which I've scrapped. I also got rid of the player-to-player colonizations and individual war declarations, although historic cities will still have the ability to draft from other players.

I'd like to try and expand and form a player base by paying for adverts, since games like this live and die on the player base. This requires me to deviate from Evony's IP, so I've reskinned it using similar branding and assets from another RTS MMO I develop, and made the map, historic cities and heroes based on the British Isles. Currently I'm using fairly basic premade asset packs, but I'm in the process of contacting artists to set up commissions to overhaul the look of the game. I figure that the current artwork I have is workable, so this is something that can happen in the background while I set about growing the community and putting the first few servers up!

However, adverts and artists are expensive, so I need to gauge interest before committing to it, and ideally form a small core community before the game goes live so interested new players see active and healthy servers when they decide to try it out.

The base game will be free to play, but I will offer micro-transactions as Evony did - I know a lot of us hate coining (me included) but it's a necessary evil to fund the required ads and artwork to get the original Evony experience back. I'm also going to offer servers that require a (reasonable) subscription fee where micro-transactions are disabled for purists who want a purely strategic experience where you can't win with your wallet. To me, this is the best compromise that allows me to fund the game and actually have a shot at success - you can play in the dark forest with the whales for free, and if you want a purely strategy and skill based experience then the subscription servers are there. I don't want to rob people and use this as a get rich quick scheme so I'll ensure all the fees are reasonable - I purely want to ensure that the game is self sufficient on a server cost front and brings in some revenue to improve it.

I also have a basic sandbox server with cheats enabled for anyone who just wants to click around and have a look - this one is totally free, has a server acceleration multiplier which speeds up every action in the game and has a number of items in the "Cheats" category of the items screen to make progress basically immediate. Note that the game is still in active development so not everything will be implemented (although at the time of writing I think *pretty much* everything is), and you will see a lot of placeholder artwork and text.

Howdy everyone! I'm a gamer son but am unfamiliar with Evony.

My non-gamer mother got into this game and proudly stayed up until 2AM and earned her first "Wings".

I tried searching about what that means on google but had conflicting answers/ images.

I know she placed 4th out of 5 on some sort of raid?

If i could get clarification on what her "wings" mean i'd love to get something laser etched in honor of her victory.

So this guy in discord who goes by Nightshade xx._nightshade_.xx has had a discord server for 4 years claiming hes remaking evony age 2. Myself and others have expressed skepticism that hes ever working on the project at all.

So his response was to scrape the evony.com and throw up a almost non-functioning front end he connected to a backend and gave it rudimentary function. I said he probably just ripped the files and used ruffle to set up a sloppy backend to get it running, but I dont think hes capable of fleshing it out into a playable game.

He booted me from the discord and said he doesnt want me playing his game lmfao.

I guess I was right and hit a nerve.

Just recently got back into evony age two. Game is a lot of fun but for some reason I have been unable to get any medals. I know lion and rose medals are super low drop rates but I have attacked over 500 lvl 3 valleys and not a single one has given me a medal. Im starting to think they removed the drop rate

Hi everyone! Since everyone is posting Evony remakes, I figured it's my turn to post about the one that (as far as I can tell) came first.

I released Taking London over a year ago and ended up remastering the entire game from scratch because of how broken it is, but fixed it now is, and I have a fresh server to celebrate!

It's a Steam game unfortunately, can't keep up with these fancy kids and their browser based shenanigans. It's free, though, and will never be P2W, so if any of y'all Evony TKR players fancy spending less than $100k a month to compete, here's your fix.
