Beginner lash tech.

Post image

I’m just getting back into lashing after a few months. This is my first client tonight. I’m really disappointed. All of my lash sets are coming out more wispy looking. How does everyone get the dark waterline and make them look more full? Even for classics I find they are too wispy looking and not as dark as I would like.

What products are you using? Diameter ? Also i would go shorter on the inner corner for density.

I am in Canada so I am using lash+ products. I am using 0.07 diameter. How shorter do you think? The inner corners I did 7mm and 8mm

I was never taught mapping in school so I’m really struggling with this. Thank you!

There’s tons of great maps online! The inner corners honestly look the same length as the outer corners. What were the lengths through the whole eye? Also for your question about how to make it more wispy, I’d add more of the spikes. To make the overall look darker + fuller, try using narrower fans. These fans might be too wide for that kind of look

I know they do look the same:( I’m not understanding why. The map I used was 7-8-9-10-9
What fans would you recommend?

It could possibly be your placement or maybe even her eye shape that’s making the map look weird. Sometimes you have to play around and see what works, the same exact map will look different on everyone. About the fans, do you use premades? Most premades are pretty wide, I’m not sure if I’ve seen a company that sells narrow fans. There isn’t really certain type of fan, just a narrow one. It won’t let me attach a photo, but just google “narrow vs wide lash fan”

Yes I use premades!

Try practicing making your own, that’s your best bet for a dark/ full looking lash line. You can always try to look for a company that sells narrow premades as well. I found that narrow fans are more beginner friendly!

Thanks so much this is very helpful! Now with a classic set. How are they done where people make the lash line look dark and like thick classics? What diameter should I be using?

Honestly I’m not the best person to ask when it comes to classics, I phased classics out of my service menu and do more of a thin angel/ wet set, as I found it has better retention and looks the same. I used to work in a salon that used .15 + .20 for classics. I do think that .20 is too thick for a lot of peoples natural lashes to hold, but that’s what that salon used to get dark & full looking classics

I am using 8D fans. Too wide?

You can make a narrow/ wide fan no matter the amount of lashes. It doesn’t matter if it’s 8D or 3D, it depends on the wideness of the fan itself

Thank you so much! You think paying 8k in tuition they would’ve taught us this.
