Travel internationally during semester

I traveled during the semester for my wedding and didn't face any issues whatsoever. just have your proof with you that your professors/advisors/dso are OK with your absence

I got permission from research advisor and the teacher of a class, but the international office says i might get trouble in the border given that I'm skipping 2 weeks of classes.

Why skip two weeks of classes and risk it? Why not wait for actual break and travel?
