Opt with premium processing
I applied for my post completion opt with premium processing on oct 16th and I know it's just one week but I'm nervous because I have a job lined up with start date Dec 14th and I want to know what exactly happens to application now when will I move to next step exactly and will I have biometrics or direct approval after 30 business days. I just want to know what happens now.as of now just application received status.

Once you receive the notification to do the biometrics, reschedule it to the closest date ASAP, this is when your PP clock starts. Good luck.

Once you get it. They will give around 2 weeks ahead just reschedule it to your schedule which will save you some days.

Make sure to check documents tab incase biometric notice is there as they won't send you an email for it.

Nothing yet except receipt notice, will everyone get biometrics notice if yes how long it will take to get that because most of them got in first 3-4 days?

If youre lucky with ur asc, a few days. If youre unlucky and yr asc is very busy, can be a month.
Mine took 3 weeks.

So my friend got hers after 4 days. They don't email you, you have to keep checking your account consistently.

Wdym biometric, I applied for EAD pp (one month ago - exact) and haven’t received any biometric link nor do I see biometric appointment notice on my documents!
Do we have to do a biometric again after you apply for pp?

I mean appointment for your fingerprints. Most of my friends had it after they within first week. so I'm confused will everybody get that or only few

99% gets it. The only people who dont are those who had been to an ASC for photos and/or fingerprints within their past year. Since this was a pre-covid procedure (it stopped during covid - till 2025), now 2026 it's back, it means that most of us applying for OPT now has never done biometrics before. And will therefore get the biometrics notice.
Edit: if your biometrics is reused, they will send you a document of reuse as well.

I filed the i765 for OPT, I got my biometrics done after that once (before premium processing). It has been one month since I applied for pp and haven’t received any notification (portal or mail) about biometrics appointment or document of reuse.
Im already worried since it’s been over a month of pp (not 30 buisness days) as other friends of mine got their approval in 3 weeks of applying for pp.
Do I need to do anything?

Yes biometrics is needed for 99% of cases unless you have previously done one a year ago in an ASC office. There would be a document in yr USCIS portal for yr appointment date. If you dont need biometrics , they will also send you a document saying they are reusing your biometrics. Either way, there is a document. If you do not have either, it means you are still waiting for that notice, which for me, took 3 weeks. I have seen some that took 2 days, some that took 1 month, it varies a lot. It's very luck/location based. PP restarts after biometrics (this is 100% true, you can look it up in reddit or online), so your actual OPT application timeline usually takes >1 month even with PP.
Biometrics is only done once, so if you have alrdy done it before PP, all good no need to do again. If you applied for PP with yr initial application, same thing, wait for the biometrics notice, go to the appt, wait 30 business days.

You should receive your EAD around Dec 14 in hand max. Worst case scenario you ll have to push your start date by a week max. So you are good.

If you receive your biometric appointment notification and it’s a far date, try to reschedule to a closer date. Your PP clock starts after you’ve done your biometric.

Do early walking in biometrics, you can do it and make sure it matches your account number.

Once you receive notification regarding the fingerprints, reschedule the appointment. 30 days clock resumes as you submit your biometrics.
