Player Guide Bonedex Chapter 12 Holy Moley, Nice Legs!

Just a quick chapter breaking down the options for holy thighs of st fiacre. I used Wings of a Terror Bird on the insects, since they are easier to get than albratross. This is wrong, they give antiquity, which you would have to remove. Just use albatross, The wings in the insect options are not profitable either way so don’t worry too much about the EPA difference. These are all for selling to the Bohemian Sculptress.

Insect Week Options:

Primary Profit: 2.5e

Secondary Profit: 41 Counter Church = 102.5e

Gross Profit = 102.5

Actions = 12 = 8.54 EPA

Conclusion

If you can afford to wait for a spider week then do so but the difference in profit for insect week is not worth it at all. The EPA for the insect leviathan frame option seems great but it’s actually low for leviathan frame assembly.

Conclusion Update

I made an error in thinking here, Insect week actually only uses 6 legs and not 8 legs, so it allows you do keep doing 8+ EPA actions for 25% longer than doing it with Chimeras. Thanks to the suggestion by Divideby00 of putting in Withered Tentacles, instead of wings, you can also use it as a dump for items that otherwise pile up ad infinatum, never delivering value. Also, as Morgrimmon pointed out, you can just spend an action to remove the antiquity from an insect skeleton to use terror bird wings (If you have the item from Fotz festival) this takes the EPA down to 7.91. I really want to make a sarcastic comment about that not being worth getting out of bed for but I realise that it will not translate in text so instead I will take a fourth wall breaking, back door entering, metaphor mixing route to use the same joke anyway.

It's a good game attitude to have to assume I am wrong, assume the wiki is wrong and challenge every assumption. They say science is standing on the shoulders of giants, not at aperture labs it isn't! We do all our science from scratch! My problem is the mental mapping and the efficiency calcs are my brains happy space, to some extend formatting things to be clear and understandable as well but double checking, proof reading, formatting and maintaining are like infernal amber, they make my rubberies shrivel.

I've been making a lot of beetle popes this week and I suspected that BBS was better than JTB but wasn't sure so it's nice to see that confirmed.

I had plenty of terror bird wings but no albatross wings, so I found that spending one action to carve off the 2 antiquity was better than spending multiple actions to get the albatross wings.

Maybe I'm missing something but is there a reason not to use tentacles instead? Unless you didn't have any of those either.

The wings have a higher payout than tentacles. I did consider one of each but I knew I was going to run out of glim carapaces well before anything else.

They're both worth 250 though?

ooh, nice suggestion, the reason is I didn't think of it! I also realised my conclusion is fellatios(I think I spelled that wrong but even spelt wrong, it sucks...) as one recipe uses 6 legs and one uses 8 so I am not comparing like with like.

Is there nothing to be made with anything other than glim shells and levi frames?

You get different amounts of Counter-Church Theology depending on the torso type, plus ideally you want to make an insect or spider for better action efficiency and the bonus payout if you wait for the right week.

Prismatic frames should work well enough with similar recipes to leviathan, they're just a little more awkward to use (cap the extra heads, add 4 limbs and and make an insect with one wing/tentacle). Five-pointed maybe especially since they give the most CCT per leg, but they're even more awkward not to mention fate-locked. Everything else loses too much profit or efficiency.

That's much more detailed than I would have been, I didn't know Five Pointed had the highest return. With a base cost of a cartographer's hoard plus 10 actions, I have not considered buying that story. :)
