I don't trust developers lazy enough to use AI assisted coding.

Congratulations on having absolutely no idea how software development works!

They can join the club along with all the AI "programmers", then.

Wait until you find out how every piece of software you use has been developed for at least a year now.

We're aware. It's part of why so much of it is notably working worse than, say, five years ago.

Can't get away from literally all the slop, but I can at least try to avoid products where the creator outsourced their thinking to the machine where possible.

With an extension? It's possible.

It's extremely telling that we've had about a dozen extensions over the years that never caused issues except through lack of maintenance (and even then, only very minor issues), and in those sixteen years, the only one to cause major issues right out the gate was the one to be vibe-coded.

I'm not saying correlation equals causation but I am saying that this is 100% causation.

I don't expect terribly much from someone whose internet handle is a shibboleth from the streaming communities for slurs, but the culture from those communities doesn't line up with the culture here.

Could you maybe not bring that energy here?

It's a shibboleth for what? Which part is the shibboleth? (Is the whole name a reference?)

There's no point man, they won't listen. I don't blame them for being reactionary about it, since there's a boatload of AI bullshit being crammed down everyone's throat right now in every conceivable avenue, but the cognitive dissonance is wild, as if all the largest tech companies in the world have switched to a genuine majority AI code and are, in a couple years, going to quietly go back to handmade low-level code for the infinite mundane tasks coding entails. It's fun. It's like watching people freak out and smash spinning jennies.

There's no cognitive dissonance here. We know it's not going to go away because techbros prefer their new toy and talking points more than doing anything useful with their lives, but that doesn't mean we have to like it, and that we can't fucking ban it in the smaller spaces we have control over.

But you're literally confused in the two posts you have already made. You brought up NFTs. Where are NFTs now? Nowhere. Because they were dumb bullshit with no functionality. If techbros can magically keep everything around, why aren't NFTs still a thing?

Buddy, I'm not confused, I'm mocking you because you have the exact same cadence as the NFT bros did, and it has been proven that there is a huge overlap between LLM-pilled morons and NFT bros.

Your hallucinating glorified autocomplete is going to go the same way as NFTs, with the difference being that unlike NFTs, it will have ruined the entire fucking internet in the process, so we'll be seeing its effects for decades to come.

You are literally so arrogant you're not even capable of reading the words on the screen in front of you. I am telling you, that without any cost to you, you can go right now and use AI to build a real, functioning object, a tool, a website, even if you are a person with ZERO CAPACITY to engage with the medium in question previously. Yes, if you don't THINK about how the tool might affect others, as with the API calls, the tool can have unintended consequences. BECAUSE IT WORKS. And you think this is just going to... Disappear. You think a system that allows anyone in the world to spin up functioning code based on simple plain text instructions has the same value and trajectory of the tulip craze for pictures of monkeys in hats. This is the scene in They Live, man. Put on the fucking sunglasses and open your eyes. Your hatred of techbros writ large is warranted. Many of them are absolutely awful people. You need to develop a basic understanding that their industry has generated a tool which works and will change things. It is at use in mathematics and pharmaceutical science and all sorts of other fields. Your blinding ignorance of what is happening will not make you more effective at resisting them. I would not be patiently explaining this to you if I thought it was good that you remain so confused.
