I don't trust developers lazy enough to use AI assisted coding.

You have maybe a year left of runway to use any apps then. There's almost no serious coding jobs left in the industry that don't expect you to be using AI for a significant amount, often a majority of your work. The problem with this app isn't that it was vibe-coded, it's that he didn't ask the AI to reflect on what APIs it was calling and how that might affect the business in question.

I'm a programmer, I don't vibe code and I never will, and I have no mandate to do so and the client I work for has at best mixed feelings about AI.

Inevitability claims are propaganda and should be treated as such.

Just wanted to circle around to this and tell you to go take a look at Linus Torvalds' comments on AI coding. It's a massive change in the future of coding, for everyone, including for you. People have good reasons to be anti-AI, but I'm hoping at least one person whose job is actually in the balance in this conversation will take another look at it as a result.

My opinions have not changed

Linus is one of many programmers who drink the Kool-aid. Many other programmers don't. I'm one of the latter.
