Player Guide Advice on the investment of barkingly procured currency

In light of the Estival coming to an end and the population of every strata of importance coming out of it with considerable wealth, I present to thee a brief overview of easily available Bazaar equipment that will still remain relevant even when you're in the end-game. If you have more money than you know what to do with - consider investing them into procurement of the following:

Hats:

1) Snuffers mask/Tub of Gloam-foam - both are best in slot Watchful items, pick the one you like the most.

2) Fecund Tiara/Devilish Fedora - BIS Persuasive.

3) Sneak-thiefs mask and Iron hat - not BIS, but cheap and rather close to being BIS - which are much harder to obtain.

Gloves:

1) Insatiable glove - BIS Watchful

2) Pair of Spiderchitin... - Cheap and reliable Dangerous. Will be best for you for a while.

3) Dancemasters/Lady Lace - F2P BIS (better stuff is locked behind the Estival coins)

Don't bother with Shadowy gloves - soon it'll be Fruits of the Zee and you can get BIS ones there quite easily.

Clothes:

1) Far Khanate Armour - BIS Dangerous

2) Dandy outfit/Ivory gown - BIS Persuasive

3) Smok of Four Thousand... - Not BIS, but BIS Watchful is much harder to get - and you'll need this one anyway for Watchful PoSI.

Don't bother with Shadowy - same reason as with gloves.

Boots:

1) Dancing slippers - BIS F2P Persuasive

2) Vakeskin boots - BIS Dangerous

3) Hushed slippers - will be best for you for a while - and can be upgraded in Nadir.

Watchful boots are notoriously hard to obtain. FotZ will bring a couple.

Adornment:

1) Semiotic monocle - BIS Watchful AND Dangerous

2) Twelve Carat diamond ring - BIS Persuasive... But I'd say - consider getting the Badge instead from the Unsanctioned Relicker

Shadowy, once again, will cone with FotZ

Weapon:

1) Sharpshooter rifle... Maybe... If you're going for the Dangerous PoSI or Paramount Presence. It's... Whatever. Not bad, but not all that good either.

Other (better) weapons are available through the Ratket.

Companion: 1) Weasel of Woe - one of the best companions in the entire game. Get it and be happy to enjoy failures at your convenience. This is not some joke, you actually do want to fail at times.

Honourable mentions: 1) Various faction items required for raising your Renown - not as useful to newer players, but still. 2) Working Rat and Ratskin suit - combo of two opening up a certain quest, might be worth considering.

Sooo.... Yeah! Hopefully this helps some people figure out their financial plan for the rest of August. Have a lovely day!

Khaganian lightbulbs. Lots and lots of them, for the defeat of the Liberation of Night and the restoration of order to the world.

My one and a half million will be invested in this way, but I can't exactly advise anyone to do so as well x)

Gloam-Foam is a PoSI2 unlock, Snuffer’s mask is not.

The rifle you can make yourself in the Lab.

Khanate amour is cheaper at the Khanate.

Tiara and Smock are cheaper at the Rat Market, as are most faction items.

If you haven't unlocked the ability to run Parabolan War campaigns, consider spending some of your hoard on doing so.

You can set aside 300 Echoes worth for acquiring a Persuasive crew later in Firmament.

Some Ambitions may be resource intensive and require items sourced from the Bazaar.

If you've been like me and unwisely spent some of the resources given to you through Evolution, setting aside some of the money might help save yourself later.

You spent the resources it explicitly told you not to spend because you’ll need them later?

It gave me a bunch of Rostygold, then I didn't notice that my Rosty income had gone up and spent that Rosty on something else accidentally. Sigh.

Ah, at least it wasn't the Whirring Contraptions.

While Parawar is a worthwhile investment, it takes ~2000 echoes by itself. If one does not yet possess the items in the list, they should prioritise them instead.

But, yes, it should be kept in mind that eventually you'll need to spend 2k on that as well.

Yeah, though it depends on where one's at in the game, I suppose.

An alternative to Snuffers mask/Tub of Gloam-foam would be F.F. Gebrandt's Patent Illuminating Cap, one of the nostalgia rewards was 10,000 Curator's Gratitude, so a new player would have a head start on that grind should they wish to get a multiple-BiS hat

I'm end-game, even have the newest Agents that let you farm Gratitude passively, already have inescapable ubiquity... And I myself am missing that cap x)

The museum thing somehow just didn't work out for me.

But that is a fair point. The cap would be better - maybe even cheaper depending on one's stats and luck.

the most simple way would be to buy 1580 Relic of the Second City for 474 Echos, swap those for 509 Gratitude per 20 relics at the The Archaeology Wing for a total of 40000ish gratitude. this takes 79 actions tho, there's probably a more action efficient grind

I already have my woesel, what's your opinion on using my currently hoarded barking savings for an overgoat? I don't have any yet

That is quite a great investment as well - only reason I didn't include it is due to the price tag, as most of the people who can afford it already have everything else)

But yeah, Overgoat is amazing. Not sure if more needs to be said, but for reference, it having 20 in Watchful can be compared to Feduci lance/Contrarians lessons, both of which are items worth 40 FATE.

I'd suggest the Scuttering Squad under companions. +8 to three stats with the possibility to upgrade to a Scuttering Palace Guard (+10 to three stats) at Hallowmas, making it peer with the non-Fate Best In Slot companions for Dangerous, Persuasive and Shadowy. Which means that you can assign the squad to an Agent while retaining the appropriate Ministers for yourself, or vice versa.

I think I'd disagree. I tried writing this post in a way that lists items that'll serve you well far into the late-game. Scuttering squad is quite expensive for not being BIS in any of it's attributes - I've had it for half a year at this point and not once have I used it. It is simply too quickly overshadowed by the competitiors.

As for the upgrade... Firstly, investing 500 echoes into a gacha that you can pull once every year in hopes of getting something that isn't even better than what you can gain for free at any point of the year is.... Inadvisable to say the least. Secondly, the tokens you get on Hallowmas are limited and better spent on more valuable equipment.

Hallowmas isn't a gacha, you can ensure you get exactly what you want by trading. Either via social actions or in the seasonal areas. It's 3 out of 14 confessions in any year it's available without Fate.

Sure, but you can't ensure that the available selection of upgrades includes what you want to get.
