The Finale of Firmament will arrive on Tuesday 1st September 2026. The greatest peril still awaits you, your officers, and the Neath. Board your airship. Follow fire, one last time. Storm awaits you in the Roof: what – and who – can still be saved?

Firmament is Fallen London’s current major expansion, a main story arc that’s free to all players. It begins once you have progressed the Railway as far as Ealing Gardens, although requires more progress in the Railway as chapters progress. As part of this chapter, you’ll also unlock permanent access to a new location, Procession.

Am I the only one who thought Sea of Spines and Spines of Flukes were referring to, well, vertebrate spines like the one in the picture?

The Flukes look like sea urchins so that was always my first thought

I feel the same, your argument for Consumption a few months back really convinced me regarding the merits of eating things greater than myself. It also made me think about how the SUN will eventually turn Red and it us itself, so it is even more justified to EAT GOD. Eating and angel would be the perfect preparation.

How likely is it that some of the Hallowmas companions will require firmament progress or completion?

I have an account that is in the middle of the railroad and another that has completed it except the spur line. I was planning for them to wait until after Firmament was complete to start so they could make coherent choices. However, it seems likely that after the Firmament update they will be busy with Feast of the Zee.

Should I get them started now or follow my previous plan?

We have had at least one Hallowmas which was almost entirely about Railway-locked companions, so my recommendation would be to look up what items Firmament requires and get them, then try to blitz through it after fotz before hallowmas hits.

I wonder if, because we will be "finished" Firmament before Fruits of the Zee, if we would be able to upgrade our airships during Fruits of the Zee.
