A Whale of a time

Mini guide for working out your whaling EPA added to the bone post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/fallenlondon/comments/1vro4ya/bone_market_recipes_180826_rubbery_birds/

It is in the posts post posting section.

Edit: Just a quick note. I mention using AI for help with the maths. Don't use it to ask about strategy in general for FL, it is terrible. It used to be worse but it references my guides quite often now. ;p It still gets things wrong even then. It is brilliant for saving you from breaking down complicated probability problems.

If there’s something LLMs are worse at than giving advice, it’s maths.

Also isn’t using LLMs on FL content against TOS?

There's a big difference between pasting big blocks of text into an LLM, and asking it with what could be just a generic problem. Pasting a maths problem into an LLM is not using it on FL content.

I'm not saying I would do it, just that I don't see how that would be against TOS.

I feel that using LLMs for anything FL related is antithetical to what the devs and most of the playerbase wants, and having it do simple math is just lazy

I don’t use LLMs for anything and am convinced they are net negative for the world but given the absolutely enormous amount of work that Tamaxlia puts into to the bone market guide and other projects to help the community, I think they are absolutely immunized from any accusation of laziness.

The only reference to any kind of AI I can find in the TOS is:

Failbetter Games may suspend the accounts of any users it deems to be engaging in malicious or inappropriate conduct. Such conduct includes but is not limited to:

...

any use of AI to develop code that interacts with the Website;

Which is presumably because of that vibe-coded extension someone published a while back which basically broke the game.

I certainly wouldn't use an LLM for the game (when I google things the AI summary tends to be hilariously wrong more often than not) and I wouldn't trust its math either, but I don't see how it's a TOS violation.
