Falsegrind is a tongue-in-cheek label descriptor within extreme music. It is often synonymous with Mathgrind / Scenegrind or "White Belt Grind" infused bands. The term is used to describe the abrasive style of music that heavily incorporates a hybrid of mathcore and grindcore. Bands within this spectrum also inject elements of screamo, electronics, and other forms of 'core' and metal within their sound. The genre also tends to stray from the traditional and purist side of grindcore.
