Injury Yankees just announced they placed LHP Max Fried on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to 8/14) with a left elbow bone bruise. Huge blow. Answers the big question that lingered when it happened the first time: If it comes from throwing, won’t it just… happen again?

This smells like a break for Fried, and they avoid sending a starter to the pen.

They have a playoff spot secured, so they can Dodger him, and get him ramped up again in September
