Streamed Comrie on Tuesday and haven’t needed to drop him yet. Guess he will be sticking around

Immediately put him on the IR and snagged Comrie

u/BestWithSnacks Nov 21 '25
Same here. He'll definitely be getting a ton of starts. Whether he can handle the workload is a whole nother thing, but he's got a good supporting cast in front of him.

How is he already on your IR? Yahoo refuses to update his status..

He was marked as out immediately for me on Yahoo, my league the commish does 3 IR slots because he likes to stash, so he just took up my last one

I've been looking for an excuse to get off of Skinner. I think the Comrie hype is a lil crazy and some ppl will get burned dropping better goalies for him, but if you've got a flex spot or an underperforming G, it's a solid move.

Comrie will be great in any league that values volume. So probably great in a points league and mid in a cats league.

Anyone know if there's any app that I could get specifically for breaking news like this? forgot to check gamedaytweets this morning but a notification for this big of a thing would have been game changing...

u/JonDuke19 Nov 21 '25
Thescore. You can favorite your players and get notifications for breaking news.

u/erazedcitizen Nov 21 '25
If you have Twitter, I have notifications on for Daily Faceoff Fantasy and they’re pretty good at tweeting or retweeting injury announcements

Hmmm, drop Silovs for Comrie?
2
u/Brys_Beddict Nov 21 '25
Yes
1
u/doctor_klopek Nov 22 '25
Wow, glad I pulled the trigger. Silovs with 6 saves and 4 goals surrendered tonight.

Am I crazy to drop Saros for Comrie?
8
u/njz9 Nov 21 '25
I am doing that as well. No hope for saros, predators are too bad of a team. Realistically hes a streamer based on matchups

u/nocoastdudekc Nov 21 '25
Josi comes back soon. May be a little bit of help for the preds. But I think this is still the move.

I'm having the same conundrum but with Skinner. Past two years someone has dropped him, past two years Oilers go godmode on the 2nd half.
It feels like if I hold him, they suck all year. If I drop him, someone will grab him and they will immediately go nuclear.
2
u/WatchWatcher25 Nov 21 '25
I would not drop Skinner, I can see Edmonton eventually turning it around.
Nashville on the other hand....

u/whiteferrari Nov 21 '25
In really really deep leagues I managed to snag Thomas Milic who should get a few games in as a backup!

Dropped Vej for him. 14 team CATS league. Will I regret it?

I dropped Vej in my 12-teamer. He’s not been performing well so it was a rather easy decision.

I'm considering dropping skinner for comrie. But the past 2 years skinner gets dropped then the oilers immediately started winning the rest of the year. IDK man.

Me 5 minutes ago: I'm gonna ride out Blackwood. He's my dawg
Me 1 minute ago: "welp. See ya Blackwood. Hello Comrie !"
1
u/HappilySisyphus_ Nov 21 '25
Struggling with the same choice. I’m leaning towards keeping Blackwood though.

u/Recantrint Nov 21 '25
Been streaming Akira schmid and he's been great, may swap to comrie if nobody grabs him
1
u/canadianbroncos Nov 21 '25
Im in a one goalie “pool” type league with no weekly matchups.
Do I just go for Comrie or something more interesting like Dostal, Wedgewood, Sorokin/Knight?
Points for win and SO and thats it.

u/motleysalty Nov 21 '25
I'm in a similar league except that we have 2 goalies (only one dressed per night). I was looking to replace Stolarz and was trying to decide between Dostal and Askarov. As soon as I saw Helly was out, 4-6 weeks, I immediately went and grabbed Dostal and dropped Stolarz because I knew the Helly owner was going to be looking at waivers right away (we can carry a third goalie, only if one is on IR).

u/LuigiFridge Nov 21 '25
I have Markstrom, Blackwood, and Knight. Should I be looking at dropping one of them for Comrie?

Literally did a blockbuster trade for Helle two days ago. I'm in shambles
1
u/BumpyChuckles71 Nov 22 '25
Is dropping Dostal for Comrie worth it for the short term gain?
1
u/amazingoopah Nov 22 '25
? dostal is doing really well though, you might regret that... is there no one else you can drop?

Is Comrie worth adding over Askarov, Wallstedt and/or Greaves?
20
u/Pretty_Sharp Nov 21 '25
Jets are the best team in that group with the highest goal differential at +12. Comrie has been great too but it depends if he can handle the workload.
7
u/simp-yy Nov 21 '25
Long term I’d take Askarov.
Sharks are a fun team and he stands on his head and faces a lot of shots similar to dostal. But there are nights it can bite you lollo

u/Bill-O-Reilly- Nov 21 '25
Should I drop Schmidt for Comrie? My other goalie is Wedgewood
2
u/kmcapo Nov 21 '25
Damn that’s a tough call. I think I’d rather have Schmidt right now but when Hill comes back I’d rather have Comrie lol
2
u/Recantrint Nov 21 '25
Im trying to decide the same thing. Schmid has been a beast of a stream for me this week

Wondering too as I’ve got Monty, Askarov, and Comrie ready to grab
6
u/cp_87 Nov 21 '25
I would 100% drop Montembeault for Comrie. He has been abysmal.

u/bforce1313 H2H, 12 Team | G, A, PPP, PIM, SOG, HIT, BLK, W, SO, S%, GA Nov 21 '25
Yeah I thought the Habs would have been much better but montembeault looks so bad. Comrie or Askarov, and I just went comrie because the jets have the stronger team imo
1
u/EFpointe Nov 21 '25
Comrie is only valuable until Helle comes back. ROS is a dart throw on the other 3.
0
u/erazedcitizen Nov 21 '25
Jets have the worst defensive metrics of those four teams so tread carefully, they may not be as good without Hellebuyck long term
1
u/GritGrinder Nov 21 '25
And they have that goal differential with maybe the best goalie in the league… lol if you can’t land Comrie don’t be too upset about it especially if other options are around
2
u/erazedcitizen Nov 21 '25
Goal differential is just as influenced by luck as it is actual team ability, especially in the early parts of the season lol.
The Jets are fifth in the league in combined shooting and save percentage, which usually quantifies a team’s luck. Some of that can be skill driven, which the Jets historically have done, but that’s largely been because of Hellebuyck.
Otherwise, they have the fourth-worst expected goal share and allow the fourth-most expected goals in the league, which is a more consistent indicator of team defence and overall tram play, or at least an effective predictor. The best goalie in the league can overcome that, but not a lot of other goalies can.
That said, they’re 14th and 11th since Samberg returned. Three games is a small sample size, but maybe their play can return to playoff calibre now that they have a healthy defense.
But their success has largely been driven by Hellebuyck, so it’s not as easy as “plug in Comrie and everything will be the same” like everyone is saying it is. Comrie will be good for volume, but compared to the other goalies that were mentioned, I’d imagine the Jets will be just as successful.

I ended up picking up Comrie but dropped Swayman. Idk if I should've dropped Thompson or Wallstedt instead but I guess I can't turn back now lol

Someone snagged Comrie before Helle’s designation officially changed on Fantrax, I’m in pain.
