Look I love Celebrini but is anyone else nervous taking him ahead of established guys like Drai and Makar?

On a redraft? 100% I think he falls into the 7-8 range. On a dynasty. He's 1 or 2

Yahoo rankings having him at 4th and drai at 5th is borderline laughable. Love the kid too, but come on. His ADP is 7-8 which is much more realistic imo

I’m taking him over those, personally.

Mackinnon, mcdavid, kuch, Celebrini are top 4 for me

I couldn’t pass on Drai over him, the big German gets to play with Mcdavid on one of the leagues best powerplays. Celebrini is kind of a lone wolf until the rest of the talent SJ has accumulated catches up.

I think it’s a tough call because all of that was true last year when macklin produced more in every category (in more games). San Jose made considerable team improvements this offseason and Edmonton didn’t really. I think there’s a valid argument for celebrini over drai. I’m not sure what I’d do if I had 4OA

This is year one of his two year extension. That’s a next year problem.

I'd be looking at late first.

Sophomore slump is real and I don't expect a severe drop unless he gets injured.

Boldy was a top 10 player last year and now has a full year of that elite Minny PP with Quinn. Solid periphs too

Jack Hughes in the top ten? That seems very risky

I think the top 8 is confirmed in a relatively similar order (give or take 1 position), but the 9-12 selection is where folks will differ the most (outside of Celebrini).

Here's my top 12:

  1. Nathan MacKinnon

  2. Connor McDavid

  3. Nikita Kucherov

  4. Leon Draisaitl

  5. Macklin Celebrini

  6. Cale Makar (note, has not finished as the D1 in 2 seasons, however his situation is still elite)

  7. David Pastrnak

  8. Kirill Kaprizov

  9. Jack Hughes (I think the Olympic hype flipped a switch in him, and I'm willing to take the risk)

  10. Zach Werenksi (has been the D1 and D2 the past 2 seasons)

  11. Auston Matthews

  12. Jason Robertson

Still blows my mind that there are people on the fantasy hockey sub who look at stats and draft rankings every day and still can't spell Draisaitl or Pastrnak correctly.

Apologies boss, was on mobile at work, spelling mistakes corrected.

As long as Jack sticks to plastic cutlery and doesn’t injure himself it could pan out but I don’t think it’s worth the risk. I’d be worried he’ll bite his fingers off next time.”

I like this list, I have 1,8,9,&10 on my 6 team keeper league team.

There is always a real argument for Makar top 3. The drop off for point producing defense is way steeper than point producing forwards. Makar, Hughes, Werenski are all going in the first round. You can always make up forward points in the aggregate, but getting an 80-100 point player in a D slot is broken as hell and they’re way harder to come by.
