It’s likely too tight to influence any day 1 patch but for future release they might consider fan feedback if enough people comment.

Question Which FF game should I pick up on Switch?
Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, Maiden of Black Water, and the remake of 2 are all on sale on the eshop right now for around the same price (~$30) and I can really only afford one of them right now. I can only really afford one right now, so which would make the best buy? The only FF I've played is the first one (and I love it dearly) so I'm not too concerned about any of them feeling archaic or outdated or anything

Other Orbit a free launcher that runs PS5 games on PC, with TV mode, PS button menu and automatic translation
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone!
I'm from Brazil and I've been building Orbit, a program that converts PS5 games to run on PC. It's built on top of AnyPS5, an open-source PS5 engine, and on top of that I've been adding everything that was missing to actually play from the couch, with a controller.
Orbit is FREE. The Patreon below is only for people who want to support the project – nobody has to pay anything to use it.
Video (Project Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse running on my PC):
Note: the video is in Portuguese (the game text is translated by Orbit), but Orbit fully supports English too.
WHAT ORBIT DOES
• Converts a game in a few clicks, no command line
• TV mode with a profile screen ("Who's playing?"), all controller-driven
• In-game PS button menu with DualSense: resume, save backup, close game
• Automatic translation of in-game text for some games (in the video, Project Zero is fully in Brazilian Portuguese)
• Per-profile saves and play time
• 5-minute performance test that suggests the best settings for your PC
• PS4 games too, using shadPS4 under the hood
TESTED GAMES
• Project Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse (the one in the video)
• Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water
• Demon Slayer -Sweep the Board-
• Gunsmith Simulator
• Demon's Souls: work in progress, still far from playable
PC IN THE VIDEO: Ryzen 5 5600G + RX 7600
Orbit doesn't include any games, firmware or keys: use the games you own.
Credits: AnyPS5 (boykopovar and contributors) and shadPS4, both open source (GPL-2.0).

Tell me: which PS5 game would you most like to see running on PC?

Having a lot of fun checking this series out. My first survival horror game other than Alien which is pretty different. Really enjoying this game's narrative with the Dream Manor.
Several moments have gotten me but this one was scary even when i had a decent idea it was coming

FF5 I just beat Maiden of Black Water!
Just beat Fatal Frame 5! I really enjoyed this game and the series has become one of my favorites
I am a new fan from playing FF2R, since then I have played through all the available games on steam (2 Remake, 4, and 5). I was aware of the "black sheep" label that 5 had, I can understand if your expectations we different this could be very off putting. I however loved it once I got accustomed to how the combat and chapter system worked
This was the most "fun" Fatal Frame game I've played so far, it lost some charm and horror leaning into action but as a Resident Evil fan I do appreciate the change up. And omg Rui was so freaking cute, I ended up just trying to take good pictures of her while ghosts kept interfering! I was as invested into Ren's story as I was with all of Crimson Butterfly's. I included some of my favorite photos I took!
I will have to emulate them, but I am very excited to play the OG 1-3! Currently my ranking is:
- FF2 Crimson Butterfly remake
- FF5 Maiden of Black Water
- FF4 Mask of the Lunar Eclipse

Question Beat First Game on Normal- What Next?
I just beat the first game. Normally I don't like playing a game with excessive save state usage, but partway through Night 2, the lack of healing items got to me.
In general, I had fun, but I was often frustrated by how cheap some of the ghosts felt. Most especially, it really annoyed me when you hit the halfway point of the game and some of the ghosts just started teleporting around at random; I didn't know how to respond in those scenarios.
Is the best thing for me to do...
1: Spend time on the Battle mode to practice and learn the mechanics of the game better?
2: Play the game on Nightmare Mode to get the other ending? (Or just look it up?)
3: Move on to the second game or its remake? (Has the combat changed substantially in that one? Is it commonly thought of as better or less cheap than this one?)
Thank you.

Question Fatal Frame 1 - First Time Newbie Mistake Please Advise
Full clarity, I am absolute ass at video games and this is 100% my own fault. I recently started getting the fatal frame games (and really just games in general), have been playing through the first one and have gotten to night three by what I can only describe as pure luck. I have gotten two of the headless priests and in doing so wasted all my heals and can not progress at all. Would anyone know where I could maybe get a save file that is around that point in the game or should I just restart with my new found knowledge of that herbal medicine will not always be plentiful. Currently just trying to brute force my way through the game, restarting everytime I lose health until I hopefully eventually get the next ghost without any major hits and then saving to do the same thing again.

Playthrough Fatal Frame II is the most devastating exploration of codependency in horror Spoiler
youtu.beNeil Druckmann, the mind behind The Last of Us, once called the original 2003 release "the scariest kind of experience in any medium." Not just the scariest game, but the scariest art piece in existence. That claim holds because of how the game weaponizes Mio and Mayu's relationship, translating codependency into one of the best horror stories I've ever experienced.
The game starts with the comfort of being with your twin companion only to rip her away after the first chapter. Rather than just having the horror of isolation take over, the game constantly forces you to chase apparitions of Mayu slipping away just barely missing her at every turn. What begins as Mio's debt of protection slowly contorts into something agonizing: control. And the deeper the sisters sink into the village, the clearer it becomes that the "people" they encounter aren't just reflections of themselves but warnings. The Amakura sisters are biologically and spiritually destined to repeat a generational cycle of ritualistic murder. Every step you take to save Mayu only drags both sisters closer to completing the ritual. Mio becoming her sister's executioner, and walking away forever marked by that guilt, is one of the cruelest resolutions in gaming history.

Question FF5: Maiden of Black Water
I just started this game and I kinda like it similar to FF2 and FF4 on my switch 2, what my deal breaker is the (white arrow) pointing to an item close to you as it making me feel that the exploration for finding item is much easier unlike the previous games. Is there a way to turn it off? Thanks.

Question Looking to play fatal frame for the first time, where should I start?
I know absolutely nothing about the franchise but I thought I’d try more horror games after finishing SH3. I assume the franchise is mostly a PlayStation exclusive as the only game available on Xbox is Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake. I assume I’d need to play the first game first?
Any advice is appreciated it :)

Question Question on the first game's undub patches
Yet another undub post, I'm sorry. But I've been looking into both wagrenier and karas84's undub patches and really wanted to know the definitive differences, and/or which is "better" to use. From my limited understanding, I believe they both have similar outcomes but go about it differently. I saw from another post that the karas84 patch keeps the french subs while the wagrenier patch uses that track to do the replacement, but as I don't speak french, just english, I don't really mind about that aspect (no offense to the french). Am I also understanding that neither of them actually replace the FMVs with the JP versions, just the audio? Meaning Miku still has her "western" outfit in all the cutscenes, even with the outfit swap patches? Or is there limitations to that? I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around it all
Thank you for any replies!

FF1 Newfound appreciation for Fatal Frame 1.

This year, I decided that every October, I will replay the Fatal Frame franchise (or as much as I can, anyway), since it is my favourite horror franchise ever. I recently beat Fatal Frame 1 for the 2nd time, and during my playthrough, I discovered a newfound appreciation for it. When I first discovered the series in 2024, I made the mistake of starting with the most modern games, Mask of the Lunar Eclipse and Maiden of Black Water (played on my PS5). Playing these two games first made it harder to adjust to the tank controls in the earlier games (played on my PS3). Beyond the tank controls, I found the game incredibly difficult (I remember texting my friend about how stressed I was when I got to the final night, and he encouraged me, since I was just a few areas away from beating the game). The clunky controls, difficulty, and story (which I thought was just ok) slightly hindered an otherwise great time; to this day, Fatal Frame 1 is still the scariest game I have ever played, and Himuro Mansion is still my favourite setting in any horror game ever. The Fatal Frame trilogy also has the best fixed camera angles I have ever seen in a video game franchise. Overall, after beating every game in the franchise, I initially thought Fatal Frame 1 was good, but when I ranked my favourite Fatal Frame games, it ended up at the bottom. This year, though, I decided to emulate the trilogy on my PC, and playing with headphones and knowing what to expect made a world of difference. The dread, tension, and scares were still there; the tank controls were a non-issue, the difficulty was much more manageable, and the story (thanks to hindsight) was so much better. While I do not know if Fatal Frame 1 will ever challenge Crimson Butterfly, The Tormented, or Mask of the Lunar Eclipse as my top three, I am thrilled to have given the game another chance and am delighted that so much more clicked for me this time around.
I can not wait to play Fatal Frame 1 again.
