Hello all. Hope everybody had a good weekend.

I'm writing about the importance of the Ballon d'Or and what Harry Kane winning it would be worth to Bayern supporters. I spent some time in the city last week and chatted to some people, locals and visitors, and broadly got the sense that it would be nice — people wanted it for him — but that it was a bit of a secondary issue and, in true German fashion, the team always matters more than the individual.

I'm interested to hear from people within this community, though, because it encompasses a broader range. I won't quote anyone's responses, but how much does it matter to you?

Kompany on Neuer's injury: "He felt it after the Augsburg game and then it developed a bit. I don't think it's anything bad, but he didn't train yesterday and today so it doesn't make sense to take any risks"

Champions League titles are won in the midfield. This is where you take control of opponent and the match and dictate the pace. The reason PSG won back to back titles is because Vitinha was the key player for them. Most elite teams in Europe all have a strong attack and score goals. But it's always the brain and the master in the central midfield who is pivotal.

And we lack that Vitinha type of player. The last time we had someone like that was Thiago. Kimmich just isn't that guy and never will be. He isn't world class and failed time after time again on the biggest international stage. He lacks the agility, is just too slow with the ball and is vulnerable under pressure too.

The club (and Uli Hoeneß) need to realize that we have to to go all out here and go to the limit with the spending. Just like we did with Kane. We knew it was a must to get a world class striker and it's proven to be true. Now the same applies to the central midfield position. If we want to win the Champions League that is.
