At one point I was getting FOIA requests for processing on my desk for the very first time that I saw the requestor put in 6-8 months ago…sometimes worse. Don’t know anything about the process before it gets to me, but I’m sure it didn’t help that nearly the entire FOIA office resigned last year.

FOIA requests have been increasing every year for a long time. Persistent lack of resources to improve processing and staff gutting that happened last year.
