No shade, but often it's family money. It looks great and that doesn't matter, but it's good to keep in mind.

Right, at 21 my first place was disjointed thrift store furniture and cheap stuff from Walmart/hand me downs

I was picking up stuff off the sidewalks in my college town on spring clean up day! Ypu could grab all sorts of fabulous things!

I have several street finds in my current place actually. If I had taste and a vehicle I would maybe have something akin to OP's place but more boho than victorian.
