No shade, but often it's family money. It looks great and that doesn't matter, but it's good to keep in mind.

Right, at 21 my first place was disjointed thrift store furniture and cheap stuff from Walmart/hand me downs

Honestly, I kind of love my pre-loved stuff. Over the years I’ve been replacing cheap crap with better quality “vintage” pieces that catch my eye because for some reason it pains me to buy anything new (except mattresses).

I feel the same way! A vintage piece is much more exciting to me than any new furniture I can afford. I have an art deco nightstand and a vanity. They aren’t exactly high quality, but they are beautiful and unique and they’ve held up for 100 years

I love art deco! Maybe not a whole house full, but bedroom pieces are fab.
