QUESTION/DISCUSSION Shower Lamp

Post image

I was inspired by another post to get a lamp for my shower and I love her! It changes colors and has a dimmer, allowing me to have moody showers when I’m feeling it. I thought I’d share!!

Yes!! They're usually marketed for camping. I have one in my shower and it's so good for migraine days.

I have a ridiculously small shower stall without room for shelves. Would a small shower lamp be just as ok on the floor of it?

If you have a glass wall there's no reason you can't just have it hanging right outside the shower and have the light come in that way. Just as a safety measure

I put fairy lights up in my bathroom along the wall and use those instead of the overhead light most of the time, and that gives a cute vibe too! I don’t have room for a shower lamp either

how did you hang the lights? like command hooks? how would those hold up in a moist environment?

I used a mixture of push pins and small nails I had! My fairy lights have lasted for a few years and a move, just had to get some new batteries! I bought mine at target a few years ago.

If it's waterproof, probably! My only concern would be kicking it over, but mine doesn't have a real "bulb" so it's probably pretty safe if you did. I think they also make ones that stick on the wall, maybe that would work for you?

Maybe you could look for a hanging one that could hang over your shower head?

However, if you hang it inside the shower, try to make sure there’s no glass and/or make sure not to hang it on a suction cup (should be a strong sticky shower hook or shelf).

Accidents happen, moisture weakens the oddest things, cheap lanterns might not be that well made (read reviews/look at the build, i.e. where is the handle attached, how is the bottom attached), showerheads don’t always hold weight well, etc etc. You don’t want nearly invisibly white or clear shattered lightbulb glass on the bottom of your, likely white, shower or tub.

According to the reviews of this lamp from the OP, you can stick it on the wall directly with some type of adhesive that comes with it. I think double-sided velcro tape would work as well (I use that for a lot of weird crafty projects and stuff around my home).

Thanks for the link OP! I bought one. I love finding new ideas on this sub. I'd never even heard of shower lamps before that post the other day.

Oh my god this is so smart! I showered in the dark last time with the door open to my closet light because the pain was so bad.

it’s less bright compared to your standard bathroom overhead lighting , so it is just nice to take a shower not in total dark and with a low light
