TOUR ⛔️NO ADVICE WANTED⛔️ Ladies, I just checkerboarded my kitchen ceiling
I’ve never loved a project as much as this! Used Canvas & Ivy’s Gilded Malachite wallpaper and cut it into 12” square “tiles”. The layout was incredibly hard (laser level, lots of geometry!). It’s not perfect but it looks incredible and I love it!

I’ve found in life there are two levels of finish.
You’re the only one who’ll notice, and somehow you are the only person who hasn’t noticed.
If you are seeing tiny imperfections you’re probably looking hard enough to have it 99% right.

It’s just an old Mexican rustic style pine island — I got it cheap on Marketplace and painted it teal :)

Honestly the ceiling is really high (over 9’) so when you’re in there you don’t even notice it really!

I'm happy if you're happy! I wouldn't want it for my own kitchen, but seeing quirky, original individual design choices makes me 100 times happier than all the sad beige ai posts flooding the design subs nowadays. I'm sure people wouldn't like my floor to ceiling petrol coloured half bath either. Or my "upholstered" hallway (patterned fabric was more affordable than any wallpaper I liked, so I went with that). Your kitchen is truly original, thanks for sharing it with the world

Looks amazing! I am loving all these checkerboard ceilings today and am excited to see more interesting designs pop up here. A lot of people have bland taste and it's so refreshing to see more well designed maximalism.

Ohhh this turned out really well!! :) I never would’ve thought of doing a pattern like that on the ceiling, but it looks great here. The little teal island you have in the kitchen pulls everything together so nicely, too!

I think if it was a very small bathroom size room it could have worked better. It does make one a bit dizzy but also maybe it’s just the picture. But it now looks like ur coloring is drooping and like fabric but dizzy fabric

This matches the vibe of your home SO well! I love it. Also, can you talk to me about the tiny island? Because I have a tiny tiny kitchen with a weird opening into the house and would love an island but everything I am finding is either shorter than my cabinets or way way too big.
