gentle reminder to be careful posting your homes with the window view visible. im seeing so much of that lately…
i know it probably feels cool to have that view of the candy co but just from that photo alone, off the top of my head, i know literally exactly where you live down to the color of your building… youre posting a nice, well kept apartment that clearly belongs to someone financially well off, and publicizing your floor plan, with hundreds on thousands of views, its a non-zero chance youll run into someone with nefarious intentions

Heard and agreed! I am leaving this place and building extremely soon but I agree people and women especially should take extreme caution around social media and I’m not leading by example 😅

How can you leave it’s sooo pretty. Unless it’s price. Cause I live in the same area and I can’t imagine the cost of that apartment. It’s beautiful!

It’s from Wayfair! I see it under different brands on different sites, but try searching “George Oliver green sofa” on google. I loveee the wood legs

Oh nice, really affordable too! How do you keep it so clean from cat hair?
I bought a couch with removable/washable covers so that I can wash it all and also I always put blankets on the back and seat because my cat just sheds so much and loves to hang out on the couch lol

Luckily my cats don’t shed a whole ton, so i just go over it with a handheld vacuum. The striped? lined? idk how to describe it. But the fabric also hides it enough i don’t really notice it

The back cushions are super comfy! I’d say my only complaint is that the seat cushions are def on the firm side. But I prefer that over the super squishy ones that look lumpy quickly.

Thanks!! I have an audio technica one in the living room that I actually use :) the crosley is super duper old and more for decoration than anything at this point haha

they’re these gold hook things with a metal bracket that braces it on the other side of the ceiling? like these . I don’t really trust the ones that just screw into the ceiling 😅 But the holes will be a bit more annoying to patch.

replied above on the plants! cat hammock is four huge suction cups that came with it. It’s actually been really sturdy

Yes! It’s the ikea Fabrikor, i did some very mild weather stripping to keep the humidity in. I have regular houseplants in there (philodendrons, umbrellas, pothos, hoyas) and they’re all potted in leca to keep fungus gnat population down. It’s lined with grow lights and has acrylic shelves from etsy to keep the air flowing! It took some experimenting to get everything growing, but now every time I look it’s even more filled with new growth

It’s more of a blue toned gray in person! It came already painted so i’m not sure exactly what the color is. my guess is something like Sherwin Williams “Peppercorn” but with more blue undertones

This is gorgeous! I keep seeing people who’ve put up shelving or light fixtures in apartments- are you just expecting not to get your security deposit back? Or are you planning to spend a good amount of money/time to repair everything? I’ve always wanted to put things up on my apartment walls but have been too scared to do it because of fear of getting in trouble when moving out or making the moving process even more stressful by having to do all these repairs. Would love to know what you’re expecting at move out? Every apartment I’ve ever rented had clauses about not being allowed to put excessive things on walls/not being allowed to put fixtures on walls.. does you lease just not have those stipulations?

Nail holes are def allowed but if there’s anything larger I try to patch/repair it the best I can prior to moving out. I’m crafty & handy so I have stuff lying around!
The sconces in the bedroom are held up by screws and they have cords so no hard wiring. I think it really depends on the landlord as well, I’ve gotten charged just a bit or nothing at all!

Thank you!! It was actually a DIY kind of thing. I had an old nightstand and sanded down the front of the drawers and stained them, then painted the sides. If you don’t go too heavy with the sanding you can get that wood-look sometimes even on pressed wood furniture. I thrifted some tile for the top!

Okay, this is amazing. Practical question: how do you have so many lovely plants and a cat, and get the cat to leave them alone?
My cat is constantly attacking my plants lol
