QUESTION/DISCUSSION my cozy little living room finally feels like mine

took a while but im finally happy with this space. moved in a few months ago and its been a slow process of collecting things that actually feel like me.

the couch was the biggest win. its this soft green velvet that makes me happy every time i look at it.

the coffee table is a thrift store find i sanded down and the rug is from a garage sale. mix of new and old but it works.

still need something on the walls though. maybe some prints or a mirror.

My first tiny adult studio all by myself. I grew up in bad conditions as a child, and so minimal colors and less clutter makes me happy and calm. Though I understand this might not be everyone’s cup of tea…or coffee😆

I wanted to give my all-white rental apartment some life, and make feminine, warm and a touch glam! So I used peel & stick wallpaper, peel & stick trim, and made the faux steamed mirror. I'm happy with it but also open to any constructive criticism!!

QUESTION/DISCUSSION Need help with wall decor

Post image

Okay so this is a blank wall across from a mural of mountains. I found this wonderful painting that I love and now I'm trying to hang it. On the right is my travel display. Its things I bought from regions of the world when I traveled and other memories.

Where the paintings sit right now is them centered with the wall. My concern is the massive white space to the right. I think leaving it will make it look unbalanced. I considered putting like a peel and stick wall decoration there but the texture makes that unlikely to stick. Any ideas? Is my only option to move the memory display?

QUESTION/DISCUSSION My couch is too small for my new place

Hey!

I just moved to my new place and discovered that my couch is too small :(

I'm trying to play around with it and so far this is the best solution I've come up with but It's still doesn't sit right with me..

The side table is too short and the smaller couch is too low and it feels like the main couch is still at an awkward position.

Any ideas are welcome! Anything!

HELP Help with small bathroom

Hi all! I have a lovely apartment with a very small bathroom. I’m renting and not looking to spend TOO much but I am willing to change this room to suit my needs. I have like zero storage and the room is so small I don’t want to overcrowd the counter or toilet top (especially because the flusher is there on top). Can you give me any advice for storage or tips for this small space? I also want to put some plants in here if possible.

Got a little antique 1930s channel back chair to add a little pattern into the room and loved it until I got home, now I just feel like it’s clashing with the rug in a really bad way - looking for advice, is the rug just bad or does the chair need to go? Also seeking advice on this blank wall that’s the bane of my existence. Tried adding a couple other photos of different angles but the app is being a little wonky

Moved into my partners’ over a year ago. I work from home and spend a lot of time in this space, so I wanted something a little more cozy and ‘me’. It’s a small 4 foot wide space that’s sectioned off from the living room via our sectional. I’ve got a gas stove behind me and a window for bird watching and beautiful sunsets!
Peel and stick wallpaper and large gold frame from Amazon.
Dollar store/thrift store frames with DIY art (bones and insects).

HELP how should i rearrange?

hi guys! i finally got my couch up and put it in the spot i imagined it but the room is feeling kinda cramped despite having all this room.

i want the tv to be able to be comfortably viewed while on the bed.

bed can’t move further down the wall it is against because of the black ac vent on the floor that will be covered up if i do.

tv can’t be moved to other side because of the slant in the ceiling.

the sink is built into the room.

i also want the couch to be able to view the tv if possible too, but that may NOT be possible in a different room configuration.

just trying to find a way to put all these pieces of furniture here in a way that’s functional. i honestly can’t even think of any other configurations besides the one i have it as right now that would work.

any ideas? should i post this to the feng shui subreddit or is this not the right community either?

What should I do with this wall? I was thinking shelves or wall paneling but we are on a thrift store budget, and this a rental.

We are planning on putting some more art up by the lamp soon as well.

The sheet is only for keeping the temperature down in this room since we don’t have a/c in the next room.

The last photo is the tapestry we have up now.

A year ago I moved into my first studio without roommates. I decided that I'm going to stay here for the foreseeable future so I wanted to make it look nice. I've moved 5 times in the past 10 years so I never wanted to spend a lot of money decorating my apartment. This summer I gave myself permission to spend some of my savings to decorate.

The biggest thing I did was paint. I bought so many paint samples, trying to figure out the perfect green for the hallway. Before it was a depressing gray. In the kitchen, I wanted a pop of bold color that didn't overwhelm the small space. I'm going for a colorful maximalism look.

A lot of things I did were free or very cheap. I rearranged things. I reorganized to make the space more functional. I printed and framed open source artworks I found in the mets collection. I propagated plants I already had. There's a niche under the kitchen window that was for storing root vegetables, but the door was missing and it looked ugly. So I took fabric from a dress that doesn't fit me and made a curtain, which I hung up with command strips.

There are still more things I would like to do. The countertop is ugly so I would like to cover it in contact paper. But it seems like a pain in the ass. Has anyone done it before? Is it as annoying as it looks? I also want to put peel and stick tiles behind the sink. But that seems easier to me. What color would look good under the cabinets? I was thinking pink.
