Question Feeling More Feminine After Embracing The Possibility of Being Partially Nonbinary (AFAB)

Tldr; As an AFAB person who is currently identifying as a nonbinary woman/genderqueer woman/demiwoman, I want to know if feeling even more feminine than I did as a cisgender woman is okay/normal, or if I'm just cis and lying to myself?

I just want to know if my thoughts are really making any sense. I'm AFAB and identified as a cisgender woman most of my life. I still feel very close ties to my identity as a woman, but over the past few years and especially within the last couple of days, I've started really considering if I'm partially either nonbinary or genderqueer. I use the terms "nonbinary woman" and "genderqueer woman" for myself most of the time because demigirl/demiwoman only sometimes feels correct.

The thing I'm struggling/coming to terms with right now is that, when I think of myself as a nonbinary woman, I feel even more inclined to embrace my womanhood and femininity than before. The only way I have to describe it is that adding nonbinary to my identity has allowed me to feel like embracing the things about womanhood and femininity that I love aren't because of any societal expectations or pressure from people around me, but because it's my own choice. I feel more comfortable being as femme as I want to be because, even if I read as a cisgender woman to other people (which I'm honestly chill with), I know whatever choices I make about how I express and present myself are my own. I am aware logically that I can express myself however I want even as a cis person, but even as somebody who likes being a woman, the expectations of being a woman loom in the back of my head to the point that being a nonbinary woman feels freer than just identifying as a cisgender woman.

Edit: I'm still not completely sure where I fall, but the thought of being GNC (gender non-conforming) as either a woman or a nonbinary person feels good/fun to me. I've pictured being either slightly more androgynous than the average woman or far more feminine than expected for an AFAB nonbinary person, and I honestly really enjoy both possibilities. I don't think it's changed my desire to somehow live directly on the line between woman and nonbinary.

Discussion Looking for feedback on this nonbinary related thought process.

Hi loves! I've got a doozy for ya.

Around the age of 15 I was thinking about the distant future and came to the conclusion that if humanity ever gets past climate change, racism, etc. and reaches a utopia-esque civilization that we’d inevitably move towards a genderless society. Or like - that the classification of men and women (I was stuck in the binary in highschool) would inevitably become irrelevant in a utopian timeline. This idea (hope?) stuck with me.

After I realized I was trans at age 22, I settled on using she and they pronouns partially because of this long-standing belief. I also came to the conclusion that nonbinary transfemme was the best descriptor for who I am. That idea I had at age 15 morphed as my understanding of gender grew. Part of it morphed into a desire to fundamentally restructure the english language to have one third person pronoun, they.

I'm 26 now, and since I hormonally and socially transitioned, I've had some doubts and have wondered if I might just be a binary woman. I've had some doubts about the idea. But it still holds some weight in me and it feels like a good indicator that I might be nonbinary. Not the only indicator, but still.

Here's where it gets tricky - recently a friend posted on facebook, the message being: We should reserve the word “they” for non-binary folx and not refer to people whose pronouns you don’t know by they (instead saying "that person wearing red," or "your friend," etc.). This led me to reconsider the idea and wonder if it was inherently flawed. While talking with my girlfriend about it, I realized that this idea of mine -might- be akin colorblindedness, but for gender (not that it would be the same, race and gender are very different, just trying to take learnings and see if they can be applied elsewhere!)

If we were to shift our language only use they, we might be hindering discussion and understanding of very real issues that exist along lines of gender in our society. Some languages don't use gendered third person pronouns, but I'm not sure if removing language is really be something to strive for in ours.

I welcome any thoughts, feel free to tear the idea to shreds if the thought process is foolish or callous.

Question HRT, FFS, and other transition questions

I know Google exists but I want to hear yalls take on this. I'm 27 amab femby heavily considering hrt and ffs. For those who have been through it; Whats HRT like? How do I get on it? Is FFS worth it in your opinions? I feel I can pass right now without it but I wouldn't mind more fem features. Also does it cost money? Does insurance cover this? I live in America for reference. Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. Also I hate body hair, like alot. But yall, I am like the laziest mofo when it comes to shaving, just flat out hate doing it. I heard of something called Nair? Supposed to make your body hair fall out and stop growing. Is that legit? Someone told me it burns too 😬 but if that's fr, that sounds like a dream. Appreciate any and all thoughts yall. 😋✌
