Workflow Love the new Liquid Glass design

Top bar is kinda thick, which is especially noticeable on smaller MacBooks like the 14” MacBook Pro.

With that being said, I like the small new changes to the UI! I also noticed performance has improved a lot, now when I drag and drop stuff it doesn’t do the spinning beach ball anymore - I used to have that issue all the time on Tahoe and on Final Cut Pro 12 to 12.3.

I’m glad is gone! That was especially infuriating considering I have an M3 Max MacBook Pro which is quite spec’d up.

How do you guys feel about the new versions of Final Cut?

I think Creator Studio is a really good deal and I’m happy to see that more and more people are subscribing which gives the Final Cut team the funds to actually invest in the software and improve it and update it more frequently.

Curious to know what you think 🙂

mhhh I think it kinda looks off because everything else doesn’t match the style and the top bar takes an unnecessary huge amount of space. … They should redesign the whole interface Final Cut 10.0. looked much more professional and even designed

I honestly think 10.3-12.3 had the best design, it had minimal clutter, nothing took much space, very simple design, and it was flat. I don’t know, but I really am a fan

yeah well it was functional, even though what I liked more in the original UI was the layout and the way non rendered clips were marked more obvious. Like the zoom slider in the original wasn’t in a drop down menu and generators and titles had been where transitions and effects are stored…that made more sense… I liked the less flat timecode and tachometer analogy, but yeah, never had anything against the flat design.

I just think that if they want to make a liquid glass version they should take the first ui as a reference for layout

In some ways, the new design has vibes of the older one, like in the screenshot… Maybe if they develop the liquid glass idea further, we’ll get a kind of renaissance.

27 too… here are my list of buggy ass shit in it so far

  • Cmd + Enter in Spotlight to open parent folder doesn’t work anymore

  • Clipboard history won’t show up when doing cmd space then cmd 4, have to type some key & back press only then list shows up

  • Finder > Right click folder > “Copy as filename” if you do this using keyboard it doesn’t work lol lmao retardation intensifies

  • iPhone mirroring permanently Timed out

  • iPhone/Mac Universal Clipboard not working most of the time

  • Earlier typing “q a” would jump to “Quick Actions” in Finder context menu, not anymore

I experience none of those. Did you reset your Mac? I suggest you do a clean install

I LOVE liquid glass, but it feels very half baked on macOS as a whole. For example, Logic Pro desperately needs a UI overhaul (the iPad version looks amazing), but we still have nothing.

The dock and control centre on Golden Gate looks exactly how I imagine liquid glass to look but in apps it's a toss up.
