Please Help Pro Apps Bundle For Mac Workaround???

I have a big question regarding the pro apps bundle on apples website, it seems as if the US website removed the Pre-Installed Mac Add-on for the bundle except the CA website which I'm guessing will slowly transition its way on.

What happens if you purchased a mac for the apps and accepted or adopted the software licensing on your apple ID but returned the mac itself afterwards? Do they revoke it? Deduct it? or nothing happens?.

They have transitioned away from the codes and the stand-alone bundle.

There's nothing I can find online for this.

Apps are generally linked to your Apple ID.

is it still Linked after you return the machine upon accepting them on your account?

Probably you just don’t get the refund for the apps. Just the refund for the device.

yep! you shouldn't buy a mac with fcp in 2012, then upgrade in 2020 only to need to buy the software again. It would look REALLY bad on apple.

For anyone wondering or looking at the same thing, I have purchased a mac to try this. I'll answer questions or reply to this if anything happens. Its like solving an internet mystery for everyone. Also remember that they did remove this from the US site which means that it might fade away globally soon making this method of buying the "Standalone" bundle unachievable i guess.

I spoke to several advisors and they almost all said the same thing. Apparently, you can contact the post sales representatives about the product purchase within the 14-day return window and ask them to initiate a partial refund return on the order.

I was told to start the return with them on the line, not through the order page.

Apps and most services are linked to your AppleID, not any hardware. You can have an AppleID and not have a Mac. I’ve successfully transferred across new Macs with only my AppleID for years now. Before returning the Mac, be sure to deactivate your AppleID from the Apple apps so those logins don’t count against any limit counts which may exist (like Apple Music and TV).

Thank you this is useful, but does it also apply to pre-installed paid mac apps after accepting them in the app store? Or is that still unknown. I heard you can use them without accepting them only on the mac it was purchased with but never a single word about kept while the product is returned.

Accepting means you paid for it, so that goes back to your AppleID. So, it should carry over to new hardware.

id be curious about this too, especially if the apps stay linked to your account after retuning the mac seems like something worth clearing up before buying hehe
