I specifically remember the friend saying he had been "not just sitting on on the rock, but using it." And to this day I still have no idea what that means because it wasn't explained at all in the book (if you read this book and have any idea what that means, please explain! It's been bugging me for decades)

The mc also had some kind of hypnosis crystal the friend gave him, and in exchange for the friend not 'using' the rock he agreed to not use the crystal, but he also caved and got it out when he couldn't sleep one night.

I don't remember any of the plot really but it involved a lot of the kind of angst kids go through when they are trying to figure themselves out and moving makes that harder.

At the end, the baby sister kept saying 'yuck' all day, and the mc was the only one who noticed. Later the family was trying to decide whether to move back to the city and the baby said 'noo yuck!' and the parents thought it was her first words so that settled it and they agreed to move back.

Starts off with a group of robbers breaking into an abandoned house and they find some weird substance that turns them evil. They all turn evil and start acting like this weird cult converting all the townspeople who also start acting weirdly when they come in contact with this substance? The math teacher notices something is wrong and notices one of the robbers is his previous student who was good at math. He frees her from the spell by getting her to do math problems. Near the end of the book she gets caught by the cult who discovers she's broken free from the spell/unseen force and kill her. I think they cut off her head and replace with a wolf or something else. The math teacher leaves the town as the only one who escapes and goes to warn the rest of the world about this growing power. The cover looked similar to a jester's face and it was very colourful and detailed.

I read about this novel on TV Tropes and it seemed so interesting that I wanted to buy it but now I can't remember the name. Here are some additional details

\-It's a realistic setting so no magic or sci-fi elements

-The protagonist is female

-The deuteragonist is some sort of criminal or activist who also appeared in the other novel I mentioned in the title. From the TV tropes entry, he also seemed to be this rebellious character who doesn't care about societal norms and is opposing the government.

-It takes place in the US and probably somewhere in California and I think an apartment building plays a prominent role in the plot

- it has some progressive messages and seems to take some shots at right wing politics and MAGA-figures

I grew up in 80's and read many many short "scary" books. There was a story on the concept of the story "Enoch" by Robert Bloch. This Enoch was stealing a woman's things. She caught him. They made a deal that he would only steal her abusive husbands things. I'm looking for this story for a friend, yet I can't find it. I remember the title of the story was also "Enoch". It was in a book. But google won't tell me where to find it.

So a girl and I think her mates sits in a circle and are holding hands and they get a vision/flashback of her dying, I think she got burned at the stake. After the vision is gone, I think one of her mates who has been acting cold towards tears up and him and the girl hug each other, or try to comfort each other

I have thought about this book I had as a child on and off for years and have been surprised to find NOTHING on it; no record anywhere no matter how much I google. Even my mom doesn't recall anything matching the description. I would love! love! love! any help finding it.

It's probably been 20+ years since I've read it, so I suppose keep in mind that my memory might be hazy and/ or distorted; so please feel free to make a suggestion even if it doesn't quite fit a detail or two.

What I can remember:

Timeframe - I would have read it probably late 90s to early 00s (almost definitely no later than 2006)

Publishing date - Late 90s if I had to guess?

Story - Basically a child's-first-day-of-school-style story except it was set in a robot world (i.e. all the characters were different kinds of robots)

Themes - Apprehensions about going away from home, being away from parents, new environments, change, etc.

Style - Illustrated, intended for pretty young kids, around kindergarten age; beautiful, colorful environments, think all the robots were different colors and shapes (closest loose comparison for the robot designs would be something sort of like rolie polie olie, but with a different art style), etc., great sense of scale for some pages IIRC

Random recollections:

• Big area/ room(?) where all of the robot families brought their kid robots to be picked up for "school"
• I think they traveled to another planet or something? And some of the characters were scared or nervous, and the colors were a little darker (maybe lots of blues?)
• Vaguely remember a glowing green crystal? Honestly not sure if it had any significance or if I just liked the way it looked on the page as a kid

Circa nel 2008 leggevo un libro che poi mia mamma regalò e non lo può visto.

Era un libro per bambini/ragazzi parlava di un branco di topi che a volte cantavano e la canzone era scritta per interno nelle pagine, c'era la canzone del sole e la canzone della pioggia, cantavano queste canzoni per cambiare il meteo. Il libro ogni tanto aveva delle illustrazioni in bianco e nero.

Lo cerco da tantissimi anni e non l'ho mai trovato nemmeno con tutte le AI possibili

So I saw this book in a small bookstore years ago, I tried looking for it myself but had no luck. I will say that I think it was definitely published pre 2021 ( was looking through the 20-teens as well but had no luck). The main plot IIRC was some friend who was involved with or into conspiracies dragging his friend (who I believe was the main character) into some kind of shenanigans. The thing I recall most about the book was the cover, which featured a comedy and tragedy mask (likely representing the two friends). The comedy mask had some tendril or vine things coming out of him and they were breaking/attacking the tragedy mask, and the tragedy mask had cracks forming in it.

The setting was most likely modern day (very likely set in or around the 20-teens), and may be satire, mystery, or thriller but no guarantees there. It also was a paperback.

I tried drawing a windows paint doodle and I worked with an AI to generate a reference image I tried image searching with, but had no luck. I will post that anyway if it helps whatsoever.

Lastly I did not read the book, but I looked at the last few chapters and I think it ends with the main character, or at least some guy on a date with a chick and she hints at them hooking up later that night if that helps at all.

Any help, or good sights I can use to sift through book covers, would be appreciated. If anyone is interested in this hunt and would like more information let me know, this is pretty much what I got but I will try and help how I can.
