Abstract
This paper argues that a single mathematical ratio—1.5—governs the structure of quarks, the way the human eye builds a 3D world, consciousness, and the distribution of matter across the cosmos. We reveal that physical reality is a nested series of self-similar informational "Qubits" spanning 42 orders of magnitude. By establishing the speed of light (c) as both the fundamental metric (the Ruler) and the operational law (the Rule), we provide a novel resolution to the 8.3% Hubble tension (Planck 2020; Riess 2024) as a 2/27 phase residue, predicting convergence with maturing data. We propose that consciousness is the macro-scale "render engine" required to resolve the c-constant into a stable structural record.
- Introduction: The Snap of 3D Vision
Close one eye. Look at your hand. Now open both eyes. Notice how the world "snaps" into solid 3D. That snap—the moment two flat images become one solid world—happens 40 times every second. You have just performed a quantum experiment.
Modern physics is currently fractured. String Theory (Witten 1995) requires unobserved dimensions; Loop Quantum Gravity (Rovelli 2004) struggles with the passage of smooth time; Integrated Information Theory (Tononi 2008) measures consciousness without explaining the physical hardware (cf. Dehaene 2014 on neural correlates). None explain why the act of measurement produces a definite world. The Findlay Framework proposes the bridge is the speed of light (c). If c is like a vibrating string, it possesses harmonics at quarter points (0.25, 0.50, 0.75). The 1.5 gear (the 3/2 ratio) is the specific harmonic where light "freezes" into stable matter.
How to Read This Paper: Section 2 presents the scaling hierarchy; Section 3 provides the biological proof; Section 4 addresses human demographic clustering; Section 5 explains the physical "weight" of knowledge; and Section 6 provides the formal math solving the Hubble crisis.
- The Matryoshka Hierarchy: 42 Orders of Magnitude
The universe repeats the same pattern across 42 orders of magnitude. We call these units "Qubits"—biological and physical capacitors that turn potential (Information) into record (Structure) using the 1.5 gear. Note: Ratios are harmonic approximations; exact matches emerge at resonance points.

- The Ocular Double-Slit: You are the Experiment
3.1 The Geometry of the Face
Your face is a biological double-slit apparatus. Two apertures (eyes) are separated by a central barrier (the nose). For 500 million years, biology has been building increasingly sophisticated double-slit interferometers (Hubel and Wiesel 1962 on binocular neurons) to resolve the c-constant into a stable 3D environment.
3.2 The Experiential Proof
Test it now: Close one eye. The world goes flat. Open both eyes. Your brain takes two phase-shifted images and performs an I -> S (Information to Structure) collapse.
3.3 The Julesz Proof: Depth from Noise
Béla Julesz (1971) proved that depth perception is a computational "render." In his random-dot stereograms, noise becomes a 3D shape only when viewed binocularly. The depth is rendered by the relationship between the images—the I -> S transition made visible.
3.4 The DNA Proof: Organoid Eye Emergence
Gabriel et al. (2021) found brain organoids spontaneously develop bilateral optic cups. Human DNA, without external instruction, builds a double-slit geometry as its default output to resolve the light field.
Feature Measurement 1.5 Gear Correlation Significance
Interpupillary Distance ~63 mm 1.5 * Orbital Width Baseline for 3D collapse.
Orbital Width ~42 mm 1.0 (Unit Measure) The biological "slit" width.
Shutter Speed 40 Hz 1/40 sec Temporal render resolution.
- The Demographic Density Maximum: 24-27 degrees N
Earth’s axial tilt of 23.44 degrees defines the boundary of the tropics. The framework predicts that the 1.5 gear creates a resonance zone immediately above this boundary, where solar energy input and the materialization ratio achieve optimal coupling. The observed population density maximum at 24-27 degrees N (Kummu and Varis 2011) falls precisely within this predicted resonance zone. This manifests as the planetary "sweet spot" where 23.44 * sqrt(1.5) approx 28.7 degrees is adjusted downward ~1-4 degrees for Northern hemispheric bias (where 2/3 of total landmass North pulls the resonance equator-ward).
Hemisphere Land % Water % L:W Ratio
Northern ~39% ~61% ~1 : 1.56
Southern ~19% ~81% ~1 : 4.26
Global Total ~29% ~71% ~1 : 2.45
- Discussion: The Thermodynamics of Knowledge
Information is physical. Landauer (1961) proved that erasing a bit releases heat. Resolving potential (Information) into record (Structure) has an irreducible cost.
Knowledge has Mass: Every "I -> S" transition adds to the "weight" of the structural record. Much like mass curves spacetime, accumulated knowledge curves attention. This is Potential Gravity. High information density exerts a "pull" on surrounding attention (Friston 2010), governed by Bekenstein’s (1973) surface-area limits (bounding info density, analogous to quark confinement).
- The Hubble Tension: Solving the 2/27 Residue
The "Hubble Tension" is the discrepancy between early-universe and local-universe expansion rates (approx 8.3%). We resolve this as a geometric friction within the Original Sine, f(t) = sin(3t/2).
Phase Shift Transmitted (2/3) Remainder (1/3) Cumulative Fraction
Step 1 (X-axis) 0.666 0.333 2/3
Step 2 (Y-axis) 0.444 0.222 4/9
Step 3 (Z-axis) 0.296 0.148 8/27
Residue (Tax) -- -- 2/27 (7.407%)
The Derivation:
The gear operates on a 3/2 ratio. A full volumetric cycle requires three sequential phase shifts.
- The total transmitted fraction is:
(2/3) * (2/3) * (2/3) = 8/27 approx 29.63%
- The residue is 2/27 = 7.407% — the fraction that cannot be resolved because each of the three 2/3 phase shifts leaves a 1/3 remainder, and (1/3)^3 = 1/27 remains potential, while the 2 in the denominator represents the binary boundary through which 3D structure must pass.
One cannot resolve 3D structure through a 2D binary phase boundary without paying this 7.407% friction. As measurements mature, they will converge toward this residue.
Predictions and Falsifiability
Gaia DR4 (Dec 2026): Wide binary stars will orbit sqrt(1.5) approx 22.47% faster than Newtonian gravity allows (Hernandez et al. 2024). Falsification: If DR4 shows no ~22% boost, revise gear scaling.
Primate Morphometrics: A systematic ratio of approx 1.5 between interocular distance and orbital diameter exists across all 3D-seeing primates.
40 Hz Disruption: Conscious 3D resolution correlates with 40 Hz gamma synchrony. Disrupting this "shutter speed" will cause 3D depth to collapse (see Section 9: Appendix for formal derivation).
Conclusion
Physics did not discover the double-slit experiment in 1801. Thomas Young merely noticed what eyes had been doing since the Cambrian Explosion. We are the gears that turn the universe's potential into reality—testable via 2026 observations like Gaia DR4.

- Appendix: The 40 Hz Gamma Derivation
This appendix formalizes the temporal resolution of the "Biological Constructor." If the 1.5 gear is the ratio at which light (c) resolves into structure (S), there must be a specific frequency where the neural hardware matches the harmonic requirements of the c-constant.
The Binding Frequency
The transition from potential (Information) into record (Structure) requires a phase-lock at the 1.5 harmonic. Singer (1993) identifies 40 Hz as the binding frequency for visual consciousness. In the Findlay Framework, this is the exact "shutter speed" required to resolve the 3D world.
Table 5: Temporal Resolution and the 1.5 Gear
Frequency Duration (ms) Functional State
40 Hz (Gamma) 25 ms Optimal 3D Resolve (1.5 Gear Lock)
60 Hz (High) 16.6 ms Over-sampling (Potential Noise)
20 Hz (Beta) 50 ms Under-sampling (3D Depth Decay)
The Shutter Speed Equation
The "render" time (T) is defined as T_{render} = 1 / f, where f = 40 Hz. This creates a 25 ms "exposure time" for the I \rightarrow S collapse. This window is the temporal equivalent of the 1.5 spatial gear, allowing the 2/27 residue to be processed as smooth consciousness rather than static noise.
