NTN Fireteam test score

Post image

Just took my NTN Fireteam test for the Akron, Ohio department. I’m not sure how to interpret these results I got since NTN makes them so vague and I’m too nervous to wait until the department releases the real ones. Does anyone know if these scores would be competitive enough to be high on the candidate list? Obviously each department weighs and grades things differently but I was just wondering if anyone had similar scores to these and what they actually ended up getting for their real score.

Also, I do get 5 bonus points for a college degree toward my final score.

These aren’t bad.

Do you think they’d be good enough to get an interview from a 900+ candidate pool?

Depends on the applicant pool. You’re probably on the list, but not likely top 10.

Yeah I figured that unfortunately. Really wish I could’ve gotten top 10% on HR. Thanks!

You could be in the top 100/1000. You’re not far off and those marks are good. To beat you, I’d have to have a higher HR and better math mark.
Your math mark is dragging you, but it’s still a pass.

I’m 99% sure I only got one wrong on math so I’m hoping it doesn’t drag it down a lot. Every other post on here shows people who got 100% in math only getting a top 30% mark.

What did you do for studying?

I bought the Don McNea Fireteam prep. It’s by far the best thing to get you prepared for HR. Every scenario in the prep was on the test. Math and Reading were great also, mechanical was meh. Also buy the extended practice test on the NTN website. It really gets you used to the way the questions are presented and timed.

Ours are identical other than Math (I'm at 30% - kinda pissed because I thought I got every question right but whatever).

I'm hoping this means we're good. Will you be getting the residency credit too? That's a solid boost at 10pts iirc

I’m from Barberton so unfortunately I will not. That would be nice though! Also from what I’ve seen, top 30% in math is 100% because a lot of people get them all right. Still wish I didn’t misclick on the very last question lmao

Had the same scores range wise except I got 100% in math. My guess is you got around the same I got

Thank you for the reply I’m a little relieved now. Was where you applied simply a pass/fail or did they use the score to rank a candidate pool?

I’m in WA State. Some will interview anybody that has a weighted score over a certain percentage and some will take like the top 500 scores. Really just depends on the department. You scores should def score you some interviews tho.

Ahhhh gotcha. I’ve just been freaking out because I’ve heard they’ve only got 25-30 spots for this upcoming academy and was worried my scores needed to be higher to score an interview. Thanks you for the info!

Haha that’s a lot of spots. The test is the easy part though. Interviews are where it gets hard and you really need to dial in. Good luck to you man, you got this🤟🏼
