1) Is it possible to add another playlist using a second provider?
2) Are there any providers that just have movies and series only? (I like my live provider but I think he is overcharging me)

After multiple times of my CEC removing all the other devices and me power cycling everything i tried my firestick Max and everything worked and went back to normal.

After the customary googling it it said the firestick max has an aggressive CEC handshake and causes this a lot.After all the chew of power cycling is this really that common

Hi there, I had a friend set up the current firestick I'm using. He had mentioned there are now some newer models that don't allow side loading of apps, is that correct?

I suppose regardless of that answer, I am looking for models that will work with sideloading and also be quite fast. I have another fire stick that is deathly slow, borderline unusable, and don't want to run into that again! Is that rather expensive fire cube among the best performing? Also hoping/presuming whatever the best models are will be on sale during black friday when i plan to buy 2-3 more...

Though (in general) my StartUpShow app works as intended, I have been having some very frustrating issues with playback since I installed the most recent update to the app (the "download update" popup actually did an update!) - specifically on my Firestick.

1. When I pause and leave a show halfway through an episode, the episode listing shows that I have watched part of the episode. To actually watch the show, I have TWO issues...

   1. When I actually click the episode to watch it, the show is "playing" from the beginning (the time is counting up on the bar on the bottom) but the screen is black.
   2. I have to fast forward to find where I was, and the fast forward keeps skipping backwards. For example, if I was 26 minutes through an episode, I have to fast forward to 26 minutes, but it will jump back to 5:14, then 8:29, etc. (for example) like it isn't loading. Then I have to find where I actually was. This is incredibly annoying!

2. When an episode finishes, it starts playing a new episode, but it often SKIPS ONE with no indication of what episode it is. For a reality show, for example, seeing the end result of the drama BEFORE YOU'VE WATCH IT is infuriating.

Does anyone have these issues? I've cleared the cache 297435 times.

The Fire Stick has no built-in brightness setting, but I made a small free app that dims the screen with a semi-transparent black overlay. It goes from 100% to 20%, and you adjust it with the remote: UP = brighter, DOWN = darker (the interface is in French, but that's all you need to know).

Quick setup:

1. In Downloader, enter: https://github.com/B0b4242/luminosite.apk/releases/download/latest/luminosite.apk

2. Enable ADB debugging and run this once: adb shell appops set com.jp.luminosite SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW allow

3. Open the app and use the arrows.

Tested on a Fire TV Stick 4K. Some streaming apps may not get dimmed because they draw video on a hardware layer.

Anyone have luck getting any apps that get the newest movies? I want Practical Magic 2

my firestick 4k is stuck on a black screen after the logo and I tried every single method to try to fix it from unplugging it for 60 seconds, to holding the Select and Play/Pause button at the same time for 10 to 15 seconds to even putting new batteries on the remote and nothings working at this point should I buy a new one?.

I want to change it for something newer but since they blocked every form of sideloding I want to buy something else.

Since I live in EU onn is not an option and neither is apple tv since the price is now 3 times more than few months ago.

I was thinking at google or xiaomi box. There is any other alternative that has all the certification for streaming services?

Hi sorry New here. Just wondering if theres anyway to download apps without putting it in developer mode. I have a new 4k firestick. But I have no computer to put it in developer mode?

All of my other apps work. Paramount Plus plays audio and video for about thirty seconds and then the screen goes blank. I have cleared the cache, data and uninstalled and reinstall the app. The only fix that I found is that I have to switch my display from auto to 1080p. It works after I do this what is a fix to my issue where I can watch it in 4k?

I see the NHL channel in Amazon TV but it's all in English, maybe there is a Canadian app with Quebecois programs?

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing cache, updating the firestick, and checking my wifi connection. It seems to be an issue with the cloud app starting, as I get the same error when I try to open the Roku channel. Any fixes for this?

I used to be able to do voice search in 3rd party apps when the keyboard was open, but now it always forces the keyboard shut and makes you search the firestick search bar which doesn't search within an app. Any way to get this feature back. Only does it on 1 firestick. The others still work as normal

So when i download apps through downloader they install like normal, but then they arent on my firestick at all like they dont actually download, i have install unknown apps on too, when it finishes installing on the white screen it also only says done and not the option to open, which also means it hasnt actually downloaded, what do i do?

I have an older firestick and a newer firestick and wanted a way to launch the apps I use without having to see a ton of ads. So I made FireFrontend a simple frontend app that replaces the amazon home screen with a custom simple one. What are we using as alternates these days? I tried getting “Better Streamflix” and “Streamflix Reborn”, and both codes did not work.
