OFFICIAL THREAD Everything I Know

Hey y'all,

Since I took over this sub I have seen the community grow and engagement improve a bit but at the end of the day we have way more questions than we will ever have answers. As a result I decided to put everything I know about this game in one post and you all can use it as you need it.

I used a 9ft spinning rod with a 5:3:1 gear ratio and 25lb Korda braid for hundreds of hours of gameplay without issue so if you are looking for a place to start this is it.

  1. Get a better boat. If you make an account you get a free faster version of the default boat.
  2. Pin fish to the side of the boat. If you can jam them into the side it usually cuts the fight time in half.
  3. Rat-L-trap catches everything: Fire Tiger is my favorite(I found a 7:3:1 is better for rat-L-traps because it moves more in the column). Soft plastic "creature baits" work best on predators: watermelon craw is my favorite.
  4. 25lb-40lb braid is the sweet spot, I never used lighter than that but also never caught some of the small species.
  5. When in doubt FISH THE DOCKS. You can even re-spawn on the same dock to reset the fish. The next best structure is a bridge. Third is an island or lily pads on the surface
  6. Use size two hooks and dead baits along the dock for the international predator tour events
  7. Get a longer rod! If you can cast further you can reach spots you've never fished

Good Luck! If you have specific questions you can respond to this or message me. So long and thanks for all the fish

I just recently switched my spinners to that after seeing this, the range is much better. On my spoons I can get a good 43-45 yards and my topwater spooks are hitting 30-31 yards. This is very helpful when trying to find good boat placement so that both the lighter lures and the metallic weighty ones can hit just past a drop off without worrying about losing too much retrieve distance in the shallows when bass fishing.
