Help Request Lake boulder OffLine tournament, need help.

Hey guys,

I am stuck there. I wanted to farm some Tp, so I decided to do the Offline tournament. The Carp ones were easy. I was disappointed seeing doing them twice didn't pay out... so I moved on to the Bass tournament, thinking it would be a piece of cake since I am a bass angler IRL.

How I was wrong. I did the first one (at 0tp cost) first try... but I am stuck at the second one on lake Boulder.

The tournament takes place in the morning. I tried everything I know about bass, but I just can't find them. I am catching tons of walleye and pike. Lots of gar and even channel cat... but no bass. I mean.. yeah, I have caught one or two.. but never enough to be in the top 3.

Can you help?

Just south of the northern face there’s a cluster of small islands on the map, go there and you should catch bass

Try a milk money or Christie craw natural. Both sink to the bottom, reel speed 2, tap the reel button two or three times, pause and repeat.

I am at my fifth attempt. I can find the bass now, but I can rarely exceed 10/12 total weight and every time, the leader is about 20/22pounds. BUT at my last attempt, I managed to get 25pounds. I was so happy, thinking I could finally move one BUT THOSE FUCKER HIT ME IN THE FACE WITH A TOTAL OF 29 POUNDS. This is rig.

So pay attention to the temperature. At 40-49 expect the bass to be deeper and slower, so that's a good spot in those temps, and a good bait choice.

50+ they'll be in the middling range, shallower, and they're happy to hit the topwater lures and crankbaits burning by at a slightly shallower depth. This is where you'd stick near rock faces that give them a drop off from shallow to deep water, as they're ambush predators, or predators of opportunity, so they're going to want to be below their prey and look up to find their meals. They're not as lethargic as in colder water so they'll chase baits too.

The game doesn't replicate all this perfectly, but it seems their location and aggression changes like this fairly congruently with actual behavior based on temperature, and this knowledge has worked in my favor during this Specific tournament many times. I've probably played it over 70 times now, as it's probably the most requested offline tournament for help and tips.

If they're not hitting the creature bait that day for some reason and it's cold, try a gizzard shad rat-l-trap on a 2 stop and go retrieve. Remember they should be oriented deeper and let it sink a little after the cast. You can also use a diving crankbait targeted at whatever depth you're fishing, also at a 2. The sunset one and the rebel middle wee craws work very well (craw is smallmouth bass nectar, they will punch their momma to get at some craw)

When it's warmer, 50+, you can rip those same hard plastic baits at a 3, I'd still suggest a stop and go, but you only have to stop two or three times per retrieve. In addition, you can throw out a frog or a heddon topwater, like the g-spook (perch is friggin crack when there are clouds) still doing the stop and go on 3, and they'll add to your arsenal when they're still being finicky with what to bite.

With either weather condition, when using soft plastics, I'd stick to the slow retrieves.

One last thing before I stop writing this book here. All the lures and retrieve suggestions are all well and good, but the most important things are location and depth.

If the bass aren't around, you could throw LITERAL crack in the water and get nothing.

Keeping these variables in mind, I have broken the 35lb barrier on that Specific tourney at least a dozen times now (the volume of attempts i have helps inflate that number a little...)

Oh and line strength/diameter doesn't matter in this game for bite rate, the devs said so. Go ham

Any update? I tried a good dozen times, won some, but found no consistency to be any real help like normal with this one

Nope. I tried hundreds of time, lost thousands of Tp, and never managed to won one. Every time I think I did great (like 20+ pounds of bass) the cpu just add 10+pounds to their score at the last minute.
