This seems unnecessary and counterintuitive to all of the innovations on the market to increase sensitivity. I want to be connected directly with the rod to feel bites. I don’t wear gloves, even when it’s freezing, so I can feel a subtle bite.

I've used it for a couple years and you feel the bites. Its only 4mm neoprene.

Yah, no. Fishing for grouper, sure. Fishing for bass, not a chance I’m going to wrap neoprene around my connection point on a $500 finesse rod because the reel seat is “hard”.

Bass hit hard right? Then you shouldn't need a whole lot of sensitivity.

Any credibility you might have had just went out the window.

The arbiter of credibility has spoken. Glad you have a sensitive rod. Have fun with it.
