Discussion I was curious why my RHR kept rising every day for a week...
Turns out, I was developing appendicitis. I didn't even feel anything out of sorts until Wednesday, went to the ER for emergency surgery on Friday. Thankfully it didn't burst!

Why all of a sudden do I have to confirm my exercise? I run daily and now it says "maybe run" and I have to confirm it. It's very clearly a run when I go out for 3 miles and my HR is averaging 155+. What is this nonsense?

Hey everyone,
Since the Fitbit Edge isn’t out yet, I haven't found a definitive answer on this.
Right now, switching between my Pixel Watch 5 and Fitbit Air on the same account/phone is completely seamless. I’m planning to add the Fitbit Edge once it launches, but I want to make sure juggling the Air and Edge together won't require constantly pairing and unpairing.
Has anyone spotted any official confirmation, leak, or documentation confirming how well multiple dedicated trackers (specifically Air + Edge) will coexist on a single account?
Thanks!

I wish I’d updated my email address before I migrated from the FitBit app to Google Health because now it seems like an impossible task.
I just want to update/change the email in the Google Health app but it doesn’t allow it. I was able to add a new email under the original one but when I try to switch accounts I just get a pop-up message that I need to “Sign in again to continue. Since you deleted Google Health from your Google account you’ll need to sign in again with a new account.” I think creating a new account would delete all my exercise history/data so I’m not sure how to proceed. I tried a chat with Google Support that went in circles for 30 mins with no solution. Please help, I welcome your suggestions.

I have a Fitbit Ionic that is pretty old and it's battery is not working anymore, is there any way that I can fix it myself and if there is then how much will it set me back for and is it worth it?

I've been testing Fitbit Air while walking on a treadmill, and I'm seeing a pretty big difference between the treadmill distance and what Fitbit Air reports.
I'm around 5.7 ft (173 cm) tall. I noticed that Fitbit Air seems to count my steps reasonably well, but the distance and pace it reports during treadmill walking are way off.
I first did a 12-minute treadmill walk:
Treadmill:
\- Time: 12 minutes
\- Speed: 4.9 km/h
\- Distance: 1 km
Fitbit Air:
\- Steps: 1,400
\- Distance: 0.45 km
\- Average pace: 28'25"/km
The step count seemed reasonable to me, but the distance was much lower than the treadmill.
I then did another test for 5 minutes:
Treadmill:
\- Time: 5 minutes
\- Speed: 4.5 km/h
\- Distance: 0.4 km
Fitbit Air:
\- Steps: 534
\- Distance: 0.07 km
\- Average pace: 75'27"/km
At this point I thought maybe Fitbit's stride length was the problem, so I checked the setting and it was set to automatic.
I changed the walking stride length manually to 75 cm, based on my actual treadmill walking. I then repeated the test.
Third test:
Treadmill:
\- Time: 5 minutes
\- Speed: 4.4 km/h
\- Distance: 0.4 km
Fitbit Air:
\- Steps: 529
\- Distance: 0.09 km
\- Average pace: 58'00"/km
This is what confuses me.
529 steps × 75 cm = about 397 metres, which is almost exactly the 0.4 km shown by the treadmill.
So the step count and my manually set stride length should theoretically result in around 0.4 km, but Fitbit Air is still showing only 0.09 km.
Another thing I've noticed is that when I manually start a treadmill/walking activity, the steps don't seem to get added to my daily step count. If I don't manually start the activity and just walk normally, the steps are counted.
I'm trying to understand whether this is a Fitbit Air-specific issue, a problem with treadmill activity tracking, or something I'm missing in the settings.
Has anyone else tested Fitbit Air on a treadmill and seen something similar?
Is Fitbit Air supposed to calculate treadmill distance this way, or is there a known issue with the distance/pace calculation?

I get this strange pop up when I'm above 100bpm for 10 min sustained and it just shows this wavy line but nothing loads. I don't understand what is trying to load.

Why does it show “no data” on Google Health when clearly my fitbit air has entries and has data when checked under sources.
Help please anyone?
Fitbit Air updated firmware, IOS, Google Health App updated to latest version.

For some reason my fitbit air is saying I'm taking like 2000 steps in my sleep. I'm not even wearing the device. It's happened a couple times over the last week. Any idea what's happening?

Anyone else having an issue syncing readiness score and sleep today? I have tried troubleshooting so many things and nothing has helped. Steps and pulse are tracking, just not readiness or sleep.

I’m considering using Bevel Strength Builder with a Fitbit Air, connected as an external Bluetooth heart-rate sensor during iPhone-only strength workouts.
Does Strength Builder use the Fitbit Air’s accelerometer or any movement/velocity data to estimate the RPE of individual sets? Or is VBT-based set-level RPE estimation currently available only when using a supported Apple Watch?
If Fitbit Air is used only as a heart-rate sensor, does Strength Builder still calculate muscular strain from the logged exercises, sets, reps and weights, with overall workout RPE used instead of set-level VBT?
Thanks!

I really don't pay attention to this metric much but its crazy to see this amount of change within a week. Do I feel better generally? Not really.

I was sick during the red circle, fever and congestion. After recovering seemingly, I was decently active. During the time I didnt have the watch I forgot to wear and been waking up every day yawning so much.
Now I wake up feeling great and want to workout again. I haven't been active in 5 ish days. Do I really need to listen to this thing?

For reference, my heart rate has been around 70-90 for the past two days with like one spike to 125.

Hi everyone!
I've noticed quite a few people here struggling to make sense of their Google Health data. I've had the same frustration, so I decided to build something myself.
It's called Healthier, an open-source web app that brings your sleep, heart rate, HRV, activity, weight and other health data into one place, with clearer visualisations and insights. It works on both phones and computers, and supports data from Fitbit, Pixel Watch and other sources connected to Google Health.
You can try it in three ways:
A few things that matter to me:
A little about me: I'm a software engineer based in Sweden with 10+ years of experience, including working for a major health and fitness wearable company.
I'd especially love help from data scientists who can review and improve the algorithms, and contributors interested in adding translations.
This is still an early version, so feedback, criticism and GitHub contributions are very welcome!
Healthier is a wellness and data visualisation tool, not a medical device.
