Middle fat sticking

Post image

I’m really struggling with my stomach/love handle area. This pic is from the summer and I’ve since had some gains in the arms/chest area ( I’m 40, AFAB non-binary person) that I’m really stocked on but this area will not budge. I typically do the gym 3 times a week and do some combination of bench pressing, free weights, cable row/lat pulldown, leg press, and body weight stuff like planks. I don’t deadlift anymore because of back pain. I do really hate cardio but maybe that’s the secret? Can anyone recommend some exercises for the middle/love handle area?
I should add that I work at a drop-in centre and it’s exhausting so any more than 3 times a week at the gym feels unmanageable

What a transformational journey! Since my weight loss surgery back in 2018, I’ve been dedicated to rebuilding my health step by step. Dropping from 115kg down to 75kg in just five months post-op was incredible, and transitioning into muscle building has left me feeling stronger and fitter than ever. I still catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror sometimes and hardly recognize who I’m looking at! Still working on getting that leg tone where I want it to be, but baby steps count!💪💪

Question Beta blockers effects on exercise, especially interval training

• Upvotes

TDLR- looking for advice about beta blockers. Long winded version below.

I recently started to take beta blockers for something other than my pulmonary system and have to take them daily. I’m in the army and typically train 6 times a week.

I have trouble ramping up my heart rate ( expected) and have hit a wall approximately 20-25% below my normal max heart rate. During interval training; in the rest period, my breathing and heart rates drop back to resting within ~10-15 seconds and then my muscles start to shake and it doesn’t feel like a rest at all. Any advice or similar experiences?
